    My Banded Brain Tool

I agree support is the brain tool. At first I thought I was missing so darn much when now I look back and I am not missing a darn thing except trash I was putting in my body every day.

    Energy And Moving....

How exciting! I want to be like you when I grow up (LOL). I was just telling my family that we need a maid or a housekeeper or something because I just don't have the energy to keep up with a full house anymore. I am nine days post op and haven't been able to return to my regular routine yet. I experienced a great deal of discomfort after the surgery, resulting in me using the full two weeks recommneded by my doctor. My first post op visit is on Nov 8 and will definitely increase my fluid intake because my tongue has been a little too white. I thought that it was because of my low fliud intake, so thanks for posting that information. early voting - checked Sons' first x - checked high energy - checked clean house- checked 2 wk post op- checked Seems like it is now time to breathe... Congrats and I wish you continued success on your journey.

    Where Is The Port At????

My port is above my navel. It is deeper under the skin than I originally thought. When I went for my frist fill, I was surprised how deep it was.

    Death And Food

My condolences of the passing of your grandmother, she sounds like she was a nice person. If you sad, tired, sick , sore, mad, upset it seems like a good idea to eat to make yourself feel better. We have all been there, done that and know it doesn’t help in the long run or even the short term. I will give you the kick in the pants you need/want put down the fried chicken have some yogurt, soup or cereal till you can get some good lean protein. Hurting yourself won’t help you and i am sure your grandmother wouldn’t want you to use her passing as an excuses to fall off the wagon. But since you did don’t beat yourself up...we are in this for a long run....one small slip up doesn’t matter as long as we learn from it and try not to repeat it I have lost all of my grandparents and parents it doesn’t get any easier but the pain does fade and you can celebrate their lives (with good for you food—possible a small drink) Hang in there it will get better

Newbie To All This Please Help

Hi Suzanne, I am chiming in. I will be 57 next week and will be Banded for 2 years (this weekend) at goal for one month and 2 weeks. lapband gave me my life back, or maybe I should say, I gave me my life back by getting a lap band. I have learned to eat healthy and actually feel good about myself for the first time in a very long time. As for throwing up, yes some people do but the majority that throw up have issues with the band or cause it by not chewing their food or eating to quickly. Pills go down without a problem, you just need to swallow one at a time. I do chewable vitamins, consider these my treat for the day. I suggest you go to your consult an attend one of the local free seminars in your area so you can ask questions, seeing successful people helps. But WLS like everything else is not cure for obesity. The only person who can make you lose weight is you, will lose in the beginning just by having surgery but for the long haul if you want to get to your goal be prepared to work hard. Good luck, this is a great supportive group currently so your coming to the land of the banded at a good time.

Do what you are supposed to do and you will be just fine, been banded for over a year and my only regret is not being banded sooner.. I have a new leash on life -- I feel 18 again.. lots of energy and never hungry,, remember chew chew chew all your food and you will be fine... just stop when you feel full. I soon will be 51 in November and I feel like a million dollars. Good luck on your journey. God Bless.
