    Eyes Opening

Obesity is the last of the 'politically correct' prejudices. It's so true. The sad thing about having a food problem is that everyone can see your problem. Almost all other human 'problems' can be hidden from the general population, drug abuse, sex addicts, alcoholics, racists whatever...but obesity is obvious to others what your problem is and so everyone feels it is ok to comment on it or feel superior to those who struggle. Here's what I never understood...why are you superior if you are an alcoholic or a smoker or a drug abuser? No one ever has to smoke, drink alcohol or do drugs but we all HAVE to eat. Its easier to give up something completely than to 'limit' it. I have been obese all my adult life. It has held me back in soooo many ways. I hope losing this excess weight will help me to 'dare' to do some of those things I should have done a long time ago. Here's to new horizons!

Rita, wishing you a speedy recovery. I am sorry you are going through this. Don't let this forum get you down. I have only seen a few doctors post and none of them have been WL Surgeons. My point is, they are opinions. Leaks are real, they do exist, anyone that has researched the surgery knows that. Many prayers for you from South America.

    Attitude Adjustment

Hi To be petrified at this point is what I would have been. You know,I think that pre-op we are sometimes plain stupid.I thought people that stalls,cheated...right?Now after my 3 week stall I know sooo much better. You just have to remember there are only 2 kinds of people on earth. Those who get it and those who dont! Of course the fear and the doubt will be part of your life until the leak is healed. You should just take this day by day, baby steps for now.Dont do too much.Be super gentle with yourself.Dont read stuff that seems unrelated to where you are at.If you need to vent tell people on the board thats stupid to get stuffed. You have the right to just be at the moment. And the one thing that everyone can be guaranteed of in life is that bad things will happen to us.At some point,to each and everyone of us.Today is your turn tomorrow might be mine. But this too shall pass.Lots of patience and careful living for now. I will pray that this whole ordeal can be over quickly for you to start enjoying this great new life that awaits you for the rest of your life. xxo

    Dancing Queen Scares The Neighbors

How sad your walking path happens to be in "unhappy, stuck-up land". Holy smokes, people either need to learn how to relax, or they need to learn what actual HAPPY people look like. I say keep walking in the morning if that's when you want to do it. They will either 1) get used to you and follow suit....thus making the walk more enjoyable, or 2) take their sour-puss, stuck up, unhappy, RUDE selves back home and walk when you're not. I say don't give up for ANYONE....it's a free country and you have every right to express your happiness any way you please. Especially after the success you've had and how hard you're working to continue the outstanding progress! Dance on, sista!! I say add some ABBA and some Freddy Murcury and see how they like that!
