Who said you can't have alcohol after being banded? I've been banded for almost 3 yrs now and enjoy an occasional glass of wine or margarita. You just have to watch the calories. There's nothing about the band that would preclude alcohol. Except that it lowers your inhibitiions on eating crap! Enjoy one in a while! Marci

love what you wrote! Makes me look forward to getting smaller and wearing clothes not from the fat section anymore, just like you. I was banded a month ago. Keep up the great work! you are worth it.

You're doing great Jim, but I have to agree that 898 calories is not enough for a man.I think 1200-1300 is a little low. My dietician gave our group 1500 for women and 1800 for men. Getting an appt. with your nutritionist is a good idea.

Take a few deep breaths and don't stress yourself so much. I know easier said than done. You will handle what ever comes up in the future beautifully!

Pizza Ordered! Ready For My Pina Colada!

Ive been food obsessed too. It's kinda making me mad. Lol! I am already counting the days until I get real food!! Like you, I'm still feeding the family and the smells are, oh, so, good! But I know we can do this. I wanted it too badly to mess things up now. Hang in there... there are a lot of us "out here" looking to each other for hope!

How sad your walking path happens to be in "unhappy, stuck-up land". Holy smokes, people either need to learn how to relax, or they need to learn what actual HAPPY people look like. I say keep walking in the morning if that's when you want to do it. They will either 1) get used to you and follow suit....thus making the walk more enjoyable, or 2) take their sour-puss, stuck up, unhappy, RUDE selves back home and walk when you're not. I say don't give up for ANYONE....it's a free country and you have every right to express your happiness any way you please. Especially after the success you've had and how hard you're working to continue the outstanding progress! Dance on, sista!! I say add some ABBA and some Freddy Murcury and see how they like that!

    Why?!?!?

I can say that I am terrified of causing a problem post-op. The pre-op liquid diet is one that I do not truly believe is fully necessary, because I have seen so many variations, and even no diet required for some people. Today I had only 550 calories, though I got my protein in, and I thought I was going to pass out, so I had some food. I'm 6 days out and counting...so I hope I'm going to be ok. If they have to close me up, they have to close me up and I'll keep trying, but I doubt that will happen because 90% of the time or greater, I am on liquids.

    Why?!?!?

your stomach went through some major trauma during surgery! it needs time to heal. A liquid diet is the best thing at this point. No stress on your new stomach and on your fragile staple line. It will be over before you know it. When I got annoyed with my liquids I just thought about the damage I could cause to my sleeve if I don't follow the rules. Since no food is worth a leak, infection, and my life I held on until it was the proper time to progress to solid food. The time will come. Be patient:)

    Why?!?!?

I got sleeved on Aug 20 and believe me I feel your pain , but you have to be focused on the overall purpose of the surgery. If you want great results you have to follow the diet . Look online and search various post -op diets and get helpful tips on what you can and cannot do. Every doctor has his own diet. Good Luck !!

    Why?!?!?

hey, you will lose more weight on that stage than any other. and since you just had surgery and you have now cut 85% of your stomach off, that's why you have to do liquids for 14 days we all have done it..... believe me, i so totally understand. but this too shall pass. hang in there!
