    Food Mourning

Hi Birdy18...After reading this I can understand your anguish and disappointment on not having a 'last hurrah meal'. After being home from surgery it was somewhat hard for me to watch others eating the very foods that I loved to eat, especially at family get togethers where they are always based around food. As soon as I was able to eat/chew on protein I got my hands on what I thought I felt I was missing out on, but you know, it wasn't as fabulous as I thought it was going to be. That's just my experience with it, but still have 'head hunger' issues that I deal with from time to time. Hope you're coping with it as best you can...

    My 1St Week Of Appointments

Good luck! I can tell you I have BC/BS Federal and had the same requirements as you, plus pre-diet. Sent my paperwork in yesterday and was approved by the afternoon.

    Why?

weighing yourself so often in a short time doesnt help your positive thoughts. your body will go up and down and up and down and so on all the time on a daily basis. (eating, drinking, peeing, etc). and for a variety of reasons. how about you just weighing (once a week)? i think that would take some ease off your thought processing. (eating like a bird wont make you lose weight. eating lean protein and not over a cup at a time will). and lastly, are your clothes looser? are they? have you bought smaller sizes? are you feeling better? why dont you judge your weight loss success by that instead of scale numbers.... you are doing great. just stop beating yourself up please. all the best my friend.

    Food Mourning

Hi Birdy18, I went through this before when I initially got the lap-band. I have to agree with EmyWemy...it is weird when you try some of your "favorite" foods again, you may realize they may not be your favorite's anymore. Also, keep in the back of your head that you will eventually be able to eat with your family again. You may just make some different choices. Now that I am scheduled for lap-band to vsg revision on September 17th, I have to go throug this whole thing all over again. :0) Looking forward to reading more of your blogs!!! It sounds like you are doing great!

Sorry to hear about your illness....I also recommend a pneumonia shot, yearly flu shots and lots and lots of deep breathing exercises and coughing to clear out the passages.. Good luck!

Wow! You can't have a testimony without the test. I'd say you have the t-shirt on that. Prayers for a complete healing coming your way!

Sorry that you're having problems. Maybe this is a dumb question, but have you gotten a pneumonia vaccine? If not when you kick this bout you should ask about it.

I've had pulmonary issues all my life and it seems that every time it was that TOM I got sick with whatever was going around. The one thing that helped me was that I start drinking AIRBORNE at about the second week in August (just once daily) and I continue until the pollen is done in May. I haven't been hospitalized in 5yrs because of this. I also get a flu shot each year and a pneumonia shot every 5. I'll pray extra for you. Feel better. and no worries about the whiney...we're all here to talk and listen. ~ Tammy
