Day Two Of Pre-Op Diet - And Feeling Miserable :(

I had a headach for about 3 days, it got easier!!! I think the second thoughts are how many times have we tried to diet and never worked.... That was my biggest fear, that this would not work for me!!......... I got over it by reading all the stories I could about sleeve and the positive side. The pictures, how happy people are now. That in 5 months or so you can eat "normal" if you wanna call it that but just very small portions!!! Good Luck!!

How Long Should I Be On Pre-Op Diet?

Yes, depends on Dr. but Honestly from what I have read. I think being on a pre op Diet is the best. It helps shrink the liver which makes surgery easiery for everyone around. I was unable to do FULL liquids but did 2/3 drinks a day and ate salads, 5oz chicken, or fish, VERY low carbs. It helps liver. Then 24 hours before surgery I did full clear liquids, popcicles, broth, jello, water. It was hard but so glad I did! Good Luck!!!!!!!

    Weak Moments!

Make a list of pro's and con's. It's a very scary decision and especially if your husband isn't supportive. My husband, parents, friends and family were hugely supportive so that made it easier. It is a lifestyle change but the results are sooo worth it!! I am 49 years old and couldn't find a diet that worked, take care of my disable husband (head injury), work a lot of hours, that I just couldn't make it work. I am not great at the exercise part, but do try to get in 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week. There have been a lot of disappointments with the lapband so that wasn't even a consideration for me. Just my opinion - you're in charge!!

    Weak Moments!

You know, your stomach is going to heal, the staples won't be holding it together forever. And yes, it is a commitment to a healthier lifestyle. I'll bet all of us who have gotten to this point have the same misgivings and fears, and self doubt. But we've all tried all kinds of things to keep the weight off, and lost and gained the same 35 lbs over and over. At least I have. You have to be at a certain place in your head and your life to even consider this kind of surgery. And you've been there. So the question is, do you have faith in yourself? This gives you a 1 year head start to ditch your habits and make new ones. To leave behind the sugar addiction, the carb addiction and treat those things like they make you sick, instead of giving into the cravings. Pray about it. Do what feels right. Listen to your spirit because you can be strong enough with enough faith. If that's what you want for you.

    Weak Moments!

Hello MrsCastello, You have to do what you feel within your heart is right for you... I know it may sound somewhat taboo but it's true. What is your mind and heart telling you to do? I don't know if you are a spiritual person but if you are pray about the decision you are making and ask for peace because from what I am learning on the forum this is a total lifestyle change. You have to do this for you and strive every day to live a healthier and happier life. Like yourself I have tried on my on and it always comes back to haunt me by gaining all of the weight back. At this point in my life I am tired of being sick and tired... Sounds like it is time for some soul searching to make sure that the decision you make is the RIGHT ONE FOR YOU. Best of success on your journey Blann

    Stupid Mistake!

I really enjoyed watching the surgery vids lol. I havent had my surgery yet, but im glad to know what they are gonna do, how they are going to do it, and how easy it looks to complete!! Looks like I can do that surgery myself lol. It gave me peace of mind actually. I watched about 5 or 6 different videos and still looking for more!!
