    Almost 4 Weeks Out

I love Italian food too! My partner orders the fettuccine alfredo with extra chicken. I picked the chicken out and having a little bit of sauce on the meat made it extra delicious!

    Post Op Day 6

kdp, boy nothing bums us out faster than problems with our children, huh? In early June, my son moved to PA to be with his dad and I cried for 2 days. I'm sure the move was difficult on everyone, but at 19, boyfriends and friends are your entire world and moving from a place you have spent your life in to a new place had to be hard for her. I'm sure she's a good girl and it might be hard for her to see you only want the best for her right now, but she'll get it eventually. I'm sorry you have the gloomies, but hey....CONGRATS on the 15 lb loss!!! Thats TERRIFIC!!!!! You are in a fairly difficult part of the process. Not impossible, just difficult but you will get through it. I am sure you are doing the right things as far as eating. Just follow the Dr's orders NO MATTER WHAT. It's critical that you give your stomach this time to heal, by following the post-op diet. You will be fine, and honestly if you do screw up, your band will let you know and you will learn the HEED THE BAND. LOL LOL Everyone screws up. Everyone eats things they shouldn't. Some learn, some don't. I told my doctor about eating something that didn't agree with me and marking it off my list and he said he wished more of his patients would do that. So I asked him if people really ate things knowing they would end up throwing them up and he said "YES" I was floored. Nothing tastes good enough to have it come back up as far as I'm concerned. Have you looked on here for any local band support groups? That would be a great place to meet some new people, going thru the same things you are. They are listed by state I think in the forums section. Not sure. Click around and you'll find it. Good luck dear....and hang in there. You don't sound like a cry baby. You sound like a mother who loves her children. Kelly

Hey! Thanks for the reply. Nothing in life is promised to us-life isn't even promised to us- and when I read people post stuff like, "when I lose all my weight, I'm going to wear jeans and heels and strut my stuff" all I can think is, "what if you die before then?" You would never get to wear jeans and heels and strut just because you thought you were too fat to do it now. Life is entirely too short and fleeting to leave a list of unaccomplished desires that you were fully capable of accomplishing in the time you had.

You're excited and I do understand how it feels to wait on an answer. However, continue to hang in there. Hopefully, you will hear something soon.

    1St Day On Pre-Op Diet

I was very apprehensive about the 2 week pre op diet. I didn't think I would be able to do it. Funny thing is a couple of days in it was no big deal. I set a timer for each shake. 7:30 - Wake and Shake, 11:30 - Shake It up, 3:30 - Shake, Rattle and Roll, 7:30 - Rock a Bye Shaky. I know a bit corny but it gave me focus. Do you get chicken broth. I will admit this was the one area that I changed up a bit. Instead of chicken broth from the store I made it with bullion cubes. Actually less calories so i talked myself having 2 cups instead of one. It must not have hurt too bad I ended up loosing 23 lbs on the pre op diet. Just get you a plan whatever it needs to be and stick to it. Make it a routine and you will do great.

What a great post! I totally relate. I remember my college roommate asking me how I dated such hot guys!! LMAO. I was like what because I am a size 18 and you are 8. Mind you she had a crappy attitude. I played softball, bowled, and was on stage in theater. If I had let my weight define me for all these years, I would have NEVER done anything. Especially with being heavy my whole life! The world defines fat people. I just think some people are more accepting of the definition.

    Need To Vent

Forgot to add that we bought a 25 foot camper over the weekend. I wonder if it is normal to worry about breaking the steps every time I climb up in the camper or tipping the camper over!
