    Fellow Bandsters!!!! Please Help

Every Doctor has his/her own way of doing things. My Doctor asks me to do liquids for 24 hours after a fill and introduce solid slowly. Seeing that this is your first fill I doubt you are over filled however we are all different. Not feeling full is normal. Remember you are not looking to get full like Thanksgiving full you want satiety It's good you are not hungry but whether or not you will remain that way will depend on you. How were you on the liquids before surgery? How big is your band and how much of a fill did they give you? I do think you are over thinking it a bit but that is normal. We all do it. Just remember to take everything slow until you learn how your band behaves. As for the water it is not surprising at all. Remember for the most part the fluids just slide on through. If you are having an issue swallowing water then your band is way to tight. I got 4 fills and good "restriction" and I can belt down a 16.9 oz crystal light in 5 minutes but I know my band. So take is slow and explore and treat your knew stomach like a baby.

Yes, you are overthinking this. My liquid diet post-fill was 48 hours. A fill will make your band squeeze your stomach more and can cause some inflammation. If you try to pass too much food through your stoma you could cause more inflammation and even create an ulcer. He's asking you to ease into your new stoma(portal) with caution. tmf

If liquid is all your having then I would drink it throughout the day as you want it. Here is a good article to read about restriction and what to look for. It helped me a lot when I was first post op. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/page/index.html/_/support/post-op-support/restriction-the-holy-grail-r51

    Week 15 - Post Op

Good job you are so close to Onderland! I lost 0 this week, and 1 last week. So I think I'm on my first stall Not too bad for 15 weeks out I guess. I ate a lot of junk last week, I was in Atlantic City for the Holiday. So I'm not sure if it's a real stall or just not losing because of the junk. I'm not worried though, I can tell I'm shrinking and today wore a blouse to work that I haven't been able to fit in years. It's a size 14/16 but it's a long tunic and it actually fits over my large hips now. Yay NSV! That's cool about your co-worker. Only a few people know I went to MX to get sleeved. Still keeping the big secret from my Mom. At first I thought the surgery you were talking about was plication, but I'm not sure now. Hopefully you can convince him to get the real sleeve. I talked one of my friends out of the crapband, and now she's getting sleeved. I feel like a spokesmodel now LOL! I'm still doing Zumba classes and my elliptical, but now my Mom has an XBOX Kinect and I so want one now. I played Zumba on it and it's great. Maybe I will get it when I hit the 50 lb mark which is 2 lbs away.

What Size Are Those Pants? No Way

Congrats! I'm one of the lucky ones who has been overweight since pre-school. I did manage to lose 80 lbs back in 2007 and actually was wearing size 14 pants and could get into size 12 jeans! OMG what a feeling! Well, then I met my hubby and needless to say became WAY too happy and have managed to get myself within 12 lbs of my highest since then. SO....this is the jumping off point. I still have those size 12 jeans and size 14 pants and I WILL get back in them because I remember how good it felt! Aparently my body and brain have become so efficient working together that they refuse to work with ME when I want to lose, so I'm going to have to put them in a position where they have no alternative. I'm proud of you (and I don't even know you but through your postings. I feel like you're writing my life sometimes.). You're doing so well, and I'm SO excited to hear your successes! Onederland is going to sneek up on you and surprise you and when it does you will undoubtably have QUITE a post for us. Keep up the good work!! (PS....I'd go with the black lace panties and bra for the hubby first. That way he'll forget everything when he sees the credit card bill.)

    Guys Don't Hate Me......

Youll get there. I promise. It took almost a year for me to get from a 22 to a 14. Couldnt wait to go shopping in the normal sizes again. It doesnt seem like it took that long before they were too big. I only wore my 14's for a couple months. I'm now in an 8 but long to be a 6senior (actually, a 6 at Eddie Bauer fit perfectly, but its the only place ) you'll probably whiz past those 14's faster than u realize. Good luck and have fun shopping Marci

Why Am I Afraid To Reach My Goal?

Don t you all think we make excuses "if I weren t fat-I could~"or "if I was a size 10 I would~ "....and We think thin means happy. So as we approach"normal" it scares us. Then we have to face the real "us".....and we do have issues-we wouldn t be fat if we didn t.! We are self-destructive. Thats why we over eat-over drink- smoke or eat chocolate even when we don t want to.! I remember years ago-thinking I needed to go to overeaters annonymous.I ate when not hungry-ate when over full-ate things I didn t even want. that was before the Lord gave me the BAND. I ve been banded for 3 years and am 10# below my goal for some reason. My daughter says I need to get some fluid out of the band.I always have a "spit bottle" with me in my bag or in bed.It honestly doesn t get easier. I can t eat eggs-bread-pasta-meats-salad-veggies(unless they are mush).I eat mashed potatoes/gravy-sometimes mac&cheese-homemade soups low in salt.and ONLY water.I seem to have a lot of fluid to spit-like the slime. I do not over eat-still 1/2 to 1 cup portion. I eat after noon usually after 4pm.Crackers and crunchys do better than most things. I recently found that refried beans are agreeable.1/2 can.good for you-right. I like getting into a size 10-and the compliments I get.I haven t been a real social person but when someone says "wow you look great-you lost a lot of weight"(almost 90#)i just thank them and tell them i have stomach problems .!........I am still so ashamed of myself~ I couldn t admit I was voluntarily banded.Only my daughter knows.I cannot do it on my own.So I am in this sort of forced anorexia thing-i don t eat or can t eat or eat very little. My choice to be"normal".I can live with it.A smaller size feels better than food tastes. But don t think you ever get over the wanting food.! You don t. I love the food network programs-always have. And watching a nice big red steak makes my mouth water.I miss the meat. My Dr asked me a year or so ago if I wanted him to take some fluid out of my band for Christmas so I could "enjoy the Hollidays"-I immediately said "oh no thank you-I ve enjoyed a lifetime of Hollidays-Thats why I m like I am".I haven t had a fill for probably a year and half. If I had one wish-I would have the fluid out for 5 minutes so I could guzzle a jug of water and then refilled to this level. When i do drink too much or too fast it comes back.BUT I m terrified of not having this band. We are complex aren t we.? Thanks for letting me vent a little. I live alone and my cat just doesn t seem to care.!
