    Depressed

You are going to be ok. The whole process of having the band can be very challenging at times emotionally. I have a couple teenage kids that make it even more crazy. I call my brain a fat brain because I still get upset at times over food. I am working on that still. Dont worry it takes time and lots of patience. Besides if you are anything like me. I've been plus size almost my whole life. Its not a walk in the park to change the emotional feelings behind our food intake. Take it a day at a time. Also start meal planning for the near future when you can have food. I sugguest buying 1 cup portion glass Pyrex bowls it works wonders Hopefully my long drawn out story helps! Crystal

    Surgery Was Today, 6/8!

Well, the day after surgery isn't too bad! I have really only discomfort which feels like I did way too many ab crunches, and no nausea at all. Just a tiny bit of gas build up but seems like it's subsiding quickly. I've been watering flowers, doing dishes, doing laundry and have been pretty active which I think helps with the gas. I SO appreciate all of you commenting! I will give you any info you'd like, just ask, and over the next few days I'll keep commenting and keeping you informed. Have a great day everyone!

    What Have I Done?

Every dr. is different - we did not have to do liquid before surgery except the day before (clears) - did atkins induction with 20 or less carbs a day. Fat is not the problem - carbs are. Watch the bread - the eggs are most likely a non issue. I think you will most likely be fine - the pre-surgery liquid diet is rough, hang in there

    Help! I Dont Understand!

I think you are on the border-line if your BMI is 38.9. Do you any co-morbidalities? I'm 650 pounds and I didn't qualify either - because of exclusions in my policy - we have the Ohio High Risk Pool insurance. There are still many options out there, - you can finance it, try one of the Mexican Doctors, or sit and wait till your health does make you qualify. Stay with it - I never thought I would be able to afford it, I thought I was just going to die in my bed at 800 pounds or something.. I finally got my miracle, you will too.

    First Off...

All I can say is I wish I had had the presence of mind to have WLS when I was 30 (although I don't think the sleeve was available then...). But it would have saved me almost a decade of self loathing. I finally realized I only have ONE life on this planet (that I'm aware of), and I don't want to waste any more time. Kudos to you for coming to that conclusion when you did. Others may not understand, but as long as YOU know what and why you're doing what you're doing, it's all good!
