    Validation Of Change!

I have since surgery lost 52 lbs....I have been dwelling on where I had lost the weight...to me my face looks no different (but people keep saying your face is thinner) to me my waist does not feel or look smaller (yet I am wearing a 24 vs. 28)...but I just do not SEE the difference...I still see myself as Fat (well I still am but a thinner fat...LOL) I was sitting in my office yesterday when in came a woman from out in the county who is a very good and loyal customer....Who by the way did not have a clue that I had undergone sleeve surgery. She came in looking to purchase a product and before she could get out what she needed she burst into amazement and said "What on earth are you doing to your self...you are like half the person!' You look absolutely great. You are just glowing....You look Great!" Well Thank You Melinda, for complete validation. I know truly if someone who doesn't know about the surgery can see the loss then there must be some changes happening. I am still swimming 3 X a week for and hour and soon I will begin walking the dog. I am getting ready to redo my dining room and living room, fresh paint and waines coat in the living room. I have so much more energy and my knees have quick screaming and my back doesn't scream as much!

Had an appointment with Dr Fox today and he is happy with my progress. He asked me what my secret was. I was thinking "what are you smoking?" and I told him following your instructions. He grinned and said "That is what I wanted to hear". Look at Dr Fox being funny. He is a great guy.

    Next Step...

Surgery date has been set for MAY 16th! whoa...that is a month away. I dont know what I was really thinking when I went into my consultation last Friday--well yes I do, I thought maybe 3-6 months and Ill be going into surgery but now the reality is that by my 26th birthday (and my one year wedding anniversary) in September I will be 4 months post op and quite possibly under 200 lbs (30lbs in 4 mths seems doable) I see my primary care physician today, thursday i see my nutritionist, and friday I have my psych eval. Then pre-op diet begins after that! I am excited!

Today is day 5 post op for me and I am starting to feel good again. I woke up this morning before the sun and did housework and light chores. Yesterday I was so wiped out that wouldn't have been possible. I finally slept in my bed for a full night so I'm thinking that is what made the difference for me. I am down 3 pounds since surgery. Doesn't sound like much but I'm happy about it since I gained around 6 pounds while in the hospital after getting all the fluids daily. I plan to continue taking it easy for the rest of the day and focus on getting in all my liquids and protein.

Today is day 4 post-op for me and I'm finally starting to feel a little like my old self again. I was able to lay in my bed for a cat nap today for the first time without my organs feeling like they are rearranging themselves inside...lol I was so desperate for sleep the other night that I actually grabbed my pillow and blanket and slept in the passenger seat of my car!! NO LIE!! It was the only place I could think of to simulate a hospital bed at home and it worked. The next morning when I woke up In the driveway I remembered that my back living room couch is a sectional with a recliner on one end!!!! It had to be the pain meds that didn't allow that to come into my mind before I got into the dang car...lol I've been sleeping in the recliner now and it does help but I soooo want to be back in my bed for a full nights rest. On another note and one that is typical for the way things go for me in my life, As I lay in the recliner this morning starting to notice that I was feeling a little better and like my old self again I sneezed and then realized that I NOW HAD A COLD!!!! Shaking my head I got up to use the restroom and then realized that I had also just STARTED MY PERIOD!!!!!!! All I could do was laugh and just roll with it...lol
