    2 Weeks Post Surgery

So it has been two weeks since my surgery. I feel like things are going great. I am down a total of 32lbs. I even lost weight on my trip, which is a new experience. My only complaint is that I am hungry. I can't wait to get my first fill, as this should help. I am trying to stick to my 2oz/1/4c. I find that I have to eat more often with this. I got back Monday night and was able to start up my Zumba again. Man, I love Zumba. I just do it on the WII, but it is soooo much fun. Plus, 36 mins burns me 637 calories. I can't wait to be able to lift weights again. I had a personal trainer prior to surgery. We parted ways when I started liquids due to lack of energy. She now does group training on Tues and Thurs and I would love to join the group. Hopefully here in the next few weeks, I can start again. On my list of to dos, I also want to do a 5K. Never done one before and I would like to start small so I can work up to a half marathon. I am going to start walk/jogging next week on my treadmill and then move it outside once I build up some stamina and work on my shin splints.

    Year Approaching Fast....

OK, so im coming up on 11 months post op and I just now reached 50 lbs lost. At first I felt a little like a failure just becasue its 50 not 100. Then I thought I am just now getting motivated enough to excercise. I have lost 7 lbs in the past week and a half which is awesome for me since I have been on a yoyo since I was at 250.My scale is my friend again and I am looking forward to doing something, some kind of exercise every day. I get bored with the same ole all the time so I bought an elliptical in october... I just put it together about 2 weeks ago and I love it. I have worked my way up in time from 6 min to 57 minutes. I love walking around the park with my family and I have enjoyed using the wii and Kinect on my own. SOMETHING! EVERYDAY! I feel pretty good about the last part of this year long journey.

    Near The End

I'm near the end of my prep program. I have 1 nutrition appointment on the 24th then a stress test on the 19th. I'm very excited. I can't wait to be at the hospital. I'm not looking forward to the 2wk liquid diet but if it's what I have to do then I will get it done. I have a great support system who knows the process and great friends in my corner. The time out of my job is also something i am looking forward to. Wish me luck the surgery is just around the corner.

Foods To Eat & Foods To Stay Away

Wow four months! Keep it up you are doing great keep asking for help. I remember when. I needed to slow down and put the Fork, Knife, Spoon down for a rest during every meal. I used to play games and see just how long I could let them be, before I picked them up again. I was always a (gulper) and a one bite (swallower). The band will keep you on your toes if you do not hold to those rules. Chew, chew, chew and chew some more to beat the band. Your mind thinks one thing, your taste buds another and with one swallow to fast or too large..... well we all know what happens then. No liquids we all know with meals RIGHT! I needed so much help back in the day and I still need to be reminded or my band will get the best of me. 100 pounds still off, June 29 will be my three year Bandversary and I am once a Newbie always a Newbie. Had the full nip and tuck upper and lower. Took my first Spinning Class at he YMCA last week and can't wait to go again. I enjoy being one of the small people. Eat small to be small! Easy does it and keep blogging, its the only thing that helped me work with my band as well as I have. I still keep learning new things. Going to FL at the end of the month and my biggest problem now is I have to many clothes and don't know what to bring. Go figure! Best wishes on your journey and keep blogging it helps. imaluckydog

4 Days Out And Feeling Guilty

My surgery was on March 28th and I am not exercising. I have gone for a few 10 minute slow walks and I have also overdone it by going shopping. The pain isn't worth over doing it ...we are still recovering; take it slow and all the good will follow!

4 Days Out And Feeling Guilty

If you have 6 children to look after, I am certain you get more exercise than you imagine. I am pre-surgery and tracking my calories and movement with a fitbit (pedometer that downloads to the computer). I consume 1100-1600 calories and get 1-3 miles per day of movement in normal activity. I gain and lose the same two pounds week after week, even though 'myfitnesspal' tells me I should lose several pounds over the next month. Don't beat yourself up, your body is recovering from trauma, and our bodies don't all work the same. You are going to be amazing at this!

4 Days Out And Feeling Guilty

I think when you start loosing you will feel like walking more. I am only 10 days out and today was the first day that I walked any "real" distance. Any kind of exercise helps. You can park further away at the grocery store, walk around the block with your kids, etc. I am not a huge exercise fan either. You might try getting the Leslie Sansone Walk away the Pounds DVD's (cheap at Walmart). The one mile work out is only 15 minutes.
