    12 Days

Well it has been 12 days since I was banded. Yesterday was a bit hard. I was hurting really bad yesterday, where the port is. Is it supposed to still be hurting this bad??? Also My doc told me to keep the port cover at all times (i still have staples in) but the bandages are killing my skin. Maybe thats why it hurts so bad??? Yesterday was my family bbq and it went great. That morning honestly being "the fat girl" I am I was sad that I would not be eating EVERYTHING that was there. I was sad because I was making homemade cupcakes and mac n cheese to take but that I would not be able to eat them. But once I got there and had everyone asking me about my surgery and how I was feeling, they couldnt believe how much weight I had already lost it made me feel so much better. So instead of eating all the bad crap that was there I ate grilled chicken and it was yummy. And this morning I felt even better when I got on the scale and im down13 lbs!!!!

    Throw Out Your Scales!

Ok, so im four months post op....and at first i was getting depressed because after surgery I immediately lost 17-18 pounds.then nothing for weeks! But then i began to notice that my clothes were getting bigger ...BUT no change on the scale (weird) ...anyway at the start of surgery I was a tight 14/16 ...now Im a 12/14 comfortable.....When I went to the store to get a few new things to wear because everything was just too baggy, I was so excited to get into something cute. I have a 10cc band and have a little over 5cc in it now......All I can say is protein protein protein ! It makes you want to keep up the good work when you see results

    Year Approaching Fast....

OK, so im coming up on 11 months post op and I just now reached 50 lbs lost. At first I felt a little like a failure just becasue its 50 not 100. Then I thought I am just now getting motivated enough to excercise. I have lost 7 lbs in the past week and a half which is awesome for me since I have been on a yoyo since I was at 250.My scale is my friend again and I am looking forward to doing something, some kind of exercise every day. I get bored with the same ole all the time so I bought an elliptical in october... I just put it together about 2 weeks ago and I love it. I have worked my way up in time from 6 min to 57 minutes. I love walking around the park with my family and I have enjoyed using the wii and Kinect on my own. SOMETHING! EVERYDAY! I feel pretty good about the last part of this year long journey.

    Omg! What Is That???

Laying in bed this morning and my arm hits something on my leg...I think to myself...what the hell? Turns out I have a hip and leg bone that has been hiding in my thigh for at least 3 decades. Needless to say it's pretty cool to find all these bones that have always been there but have been hiding...collar bones, shoulder bones, now hip bones...oh and I am even seeing ankles too, real ankles and not cankles. Just thought I would post this in my blog today. Feels good.

Going back to work was a lot harder than I thought. My job requires that I travel to local site 2-3 times a week and sometimes I would forget my lunch so I had to eat out. But I think I have finally adjusted. I hate to admit it but I had buyer's remorse up until week 6. Three things happened...(1) I was able to get into a size 14, (2) I was able to drink 50 oz of water and didn't have dry mouth any more and (3) my husband told me that he was going to go through the surgery as well. Eating is better too. So today I had my 8 week follow up with the nurse and dietition. I am not longer under any restriction. I can have strawberries, nuts, and drink through a straw. YAY!!!!!! Also, I have lost 43 lbs and I fit into a size 12 comfortably but can squeeze into a size 10. My back no longer hurts. My knees no longer crack. I can run up and down the stairs no problem. I feel great! It was totally worth it. Oh...and my sex life is amazing!!!!!
