I'm Feeling A Little Like Frodo.....

Total nerd lover, here. I love the analogy you've used. Brilliant and expressive. Don't worry... we will be 'your Sam', you won't have to make that journey alone. Congratulations on your great accomplishment so far. I am still working on the insurance angle, and don't even have a date, (I long to be Legolas - light as a feather, walking atop the snow) and so I am the fellowship left for another task, yet carrying you in my thoughts and knowing you will reach your goal. I'll catch up to you in that enchanted place, some day.

Be proud of you inner nerd! Nerds and Geeks rule a lot of the world (think BIll Gates and those wizards from Facebook)and are responsible for all the good toys we take for granted (the wheel, fire, electricity, computers, etc). I am proud to be a geek - both professionally (engineer) and personally (love Star Trek, Lord of the RIngs, etc). Congratulations on breaking 300. The next 100 will be gone before you know it. Sharon

Too Much Attention And Stranger Rudeness

You're not accountable to anyone but yourself when it comes to your weightloss! You had to eat less and move more. That's the honest truth! If you did not put the effort into achieving your success it would not have been possible. Just look at the numerous person who have not been successful. Hold your head up, look pretty and confident and be proud of the results of your hardwork.. you had to persevere and a great deal of willpower was involved. And you have all rights to put persons who want to compare your beauty between now and then, in their place. People are always gonna make those sort of compliments. For eg. This morning one of my co-workers told me I looked like a put on weight today. So I asked how did I look yesterday? She replied that I looked trimmer. So I said well I guess I put on weight overnight! DUH! My out fit yesterday was just less bulkier than the one I wore today! Just this evening I had to let my two older sons, who were geering at my before picture, know that I was the same mommy they loved then as they do now... they apologised and kissed me afterwards, lol. Congrats... can't wait to have your type of problems lol

Awesome post! Congratulations on breaking 300 and just think how it'll feel when you keep getting closer to 'Mount Doom'. (By the way, I love the comparison). Keep us posted and keep rockin' your inner nerd as I'm a firm believer that they make the best, and most interesting, posts! If nothing else, having a sense of humor about it all makes the journey more bearable!

    Friday: Lapband Thoughts

I think you should try to help her realise in some subtle ways that the band does not prevent her from eating food no matter how tight it is. Befriend her, I don't know? suggest you team up? Seems like total ignorance on her part to me. I wish few years back someone had told me or even suggested how this band really is supposed to work. I pretty much thought... I'm smart, I can read, don't need anyone to tell me how it should be done. Boy was I wrong! Try help her see the importance of sticking to some kind of plan! All the best..

Dear Food: You Suck! ....and I Love You...

LOL! That is hilarious! And I can tell you that for me, being almost 5 weeks out, food just doesn't have the same appeal to me anymore. I've been out to eat 3-4 times now and things that I used to love just taste "ok" to me now, and I have no desire to pig out on them anymore. I've heard other people say that as well but I never believed it would be that way for ME, but it is and I'm grateful!
