Dear Food, I know you think I'm stupid for talking to you because...well, you're food and you can't hear me. I just want to tell you that it's been quite a ride these last 42 years. We've had our ups and ups and ups and ups and downs and ups and ups. It's time for our relationship to change. I'm not breaking up with you, because I still need you to live, however, our relationship has to change now. And really....believe me when I say...It's not you. It's me. I'm the one with the problem, so don't ever blame yourself. You're really sweet. And salty. And delicious...OH WHAT AM I SAYING....how can we ever part?? NO!! We must part for a time. Two weeks- no more than five, I promise. When we come back together- things will be different. You must hide your sweetness from me. Don't tempt me further with your refinements. I want to see the REAL you....the one with all the vitamins and minerals and protein...yes...I said protein. Hey, I told you things were going to change. And for pete's sake, stop bringing your friends around! But don't worry...you'll always have a place...sorta...close to my heart... No, I didn't have a mental break. I start liquids Monday. (siiiigh)

    Post Op Protein

In addition to using the new whey once a day.I also bought unjury unflavored protein power. I measure me out 2 scoops and sit it on the counter. All through the day I take a teaspoon out and mix it in my broth, jello, juices.....when my bowl is empty, I know I have enough protein in me. By mixing a little into everything, I don't notice it as much. Makes it much easier

    Carnie Wilson

It's all over the news that she had WLS #2. From what I know and seen. I think RNY surgery is temporary and Anyone I know who had it done are all morbidly obese again. Which is horrible considering they lost half of a perfectly functioning organ for nothing. I almost had RNY but I am happy that I didn't. I think carnie Wilson made the right choice and she's such a huge inspiration to me. I would love to hear about her journey. I hope this new journey is a wonderful and successful one for her. I think she's beautiful either way. Let your new Life begin Carnie!

Scared To Gain Before First Fill!

What does your doctor want you to be eating? Mine wanted me to have 3 protein shakes a day and 3, 8 oz cups of stock. Sounds to me like you are not getting enough protein. Your body needs protein to heal. CIB does not have have any where near enough protein.

For Thoses With A Surgery Date.....

Gig41 no need to be nervous, you'll be out before you even realize it. I just had my surgery yesterday and it was a breeze. I'm tender and it hurts to get up and down but other than that all is good. Just think of things that make you happy and why you're going lap band....keep your eye on the prize, you'll do great! Deb

    Fitbit Premium Anyone?

I bought it, and I love it - but I'm a sucker for technology. The main thing I like is that I can download all my info, and add all kinds of insane statistics to it. I take the reports I create from the download to my surgeon every month to show him exactly what I'm doing. He doesn't really pay much attention to it, but he gets a kick out of it, and he at least knows I'm trying and I'm committed. The other thing I really like about it is the food report. It gives you a pretty picture in the form of a pie chart which breaks out proteins, fats, and carbs for the week. It's a good way to see what you need to change. The other stuff on the premium site are more for comparisons to the "average" fitbit user - so they don't provide anything really specific to push you into anything different. I supposed if you were less than average it could motivate you - but otherwise I don't find a lot of value in them.

    First Fill

In reference to actual fill, it doesn't really hurt. I've had numbing before and it's not necessary. To me doesn't hurt no more than getting blood drawn. I feel the prick of needle but other than that they hit bullseye of your port. I've had fills lying down and standing up. Experienced doc fill takes all of 30 seconds, u get a bandaid and out the door u go. My port is in my belly slightly to left above my belly button. Afterwards area will be a lil tender but that's all
