Depressed. When It Will Get Better?

If you are always dizzy and weak, I fear you are not getting enough protein. Is there a way you can get a test to be sure you do not have a leak or anything bad. The back pain does not sound normal. As far as not losing weight right now, I am 5 1/2 weeks out and have been in a stall for 2 1/2 weeks now, but can feel myself shrinking. I know the loss is coming soon. It's a process your body is going through and you have to be patient with it. Take care of your health and don't worry about the loss. It will happen. It IS a very emotional time, and many people go through some emotional changes. There are lots of hormones being released back into your system and little things WILL make you cry. That part is normal. Hopefully soon all these unpleasant things will be a distant memory. Praying for you dear.

Depressed. When It Will Get Better?

I am so sorry you are hurting. Please know that you are never alone, for we are all one. This community is incredibly supportive and many walk a similar path, with similar hopes and dreams for the future. Hormones are clearly affected in this process, so forgive yourself for being emotional - you are in the process of changing your life and creating your future. Try to consume your required protein and water, for I've read that really helps, and if you can, get outside and take a walk. Start slow and short, and go further each day. That should help work out and release the pain that is trapped in your body, which has been through a bit of trauma recently. This will get better and you will be able to share your experience with those (like me) coming up this path behind you. Wishing you WELL!

    I Thought I Already Knew....

I read some good advise on a LBT forum about knowing when you're hungry vs. just craving food and it stuck with me: if you feel hungry for a whole can of green beans, you are hungry. If you could eat a whole bag of potato chips, you are craving. I am still considering surgery, so I don't know exactly how you are feeling, but this has helped me to not overeat or not eat when I'm not actually hungry.

    I Thought I Already Knew....

I hear ya, its more like the mind is rebeling against the body. My body knows what its supposed to do and follows through, but my brain is the one thats causing problems, telling me to eat something I know I shouldn't, and how much and after I have, I wasn't really hungry for it, but just because it was. I will eat for 20-30 minutes sometimes alittle longer but I have the portion that Im supposed to eat no more (hubby is very good at portion control) . It does get easier, but people have to realize this is life long changes not till we've just lost the weight. We can still regain it back, and still be able to have health problems if we do. I can admit I didn't know! Good Luck!

    Home- The Aftermath....

I also had my surgery on March 16th in Miami, by Dr. Jacobs, another incredible surgeon. Have lost 4 lbs already but having major constipation (guess because we are not really eating much). I am super excited to be on this journey and family and friends who were a bit skepticle, are starting to understand that this is only "a tool" and that it will take focus and dedication to loose this weight. We got this!!

    Home- The Aftermath....

Congrats! I too notice the negative point of view toward WLS, and I will admit to thinking like that at one time, until I started doing my own research, and I learned that the pov that wls was the "easy way" out was is a HUGE misconception!

What A Strange Thing To Miss....

I tell my hubby if only I could take big bites, I don't care what I have to eat, thats something I mourn, I tried to eat a tuna sandwich no bread today and ended up eating most all of it. and I never have done that. I think I was looking for that elusive mayonaise high I used to get, so I kept eating. but I never found it. Tomorrow its gonna be light/soups as now my throat hurts. We don't realize what we mourn, until we are facing it, and the timing will be different for everyone. I'm like you Mags, I love salad with lots of salad dressing, croutons, onions,,, mmm well you get the picture, nibbling on that fresh bread... my whole family knows that I have lapband and so when we go out and eat, it is no longer buffets, but a place where I can order houderves or childs plates. I can do this, we can do this, it isn't just for a little while its for the rest of our lives.... I agree best of luck to all of us!
