I am a teacher at a high school. A student who gave me nothing but problems last year walked up to me today and shook my hand. I was like what is that for??? He said I want to say that you have done a good job losing weight and that I was not even sure it was you this year. It felt good to even have the kids recognize my hard work! I teach freshmen, so they do not know what I looked like last year. They think I have always been this size. 24 more pounds to go and I will be to my goal.

    Drinking While Eating?!

I physically CAN'T drink for at least an hour after eating - I'll throw up whatever I just ate. My doc says it's because it pushes the food down your pouch faster - not letting you feel full as long. But I also read in a lapband book that what I have is called the "cork effect". When the food is sitting in my pouch, drinking causes it to back up like a cork. It's quite painful. But I can drink up until the time I eat. Marci

    Drinking While Eating?!

It's not as bad as it sounds. It is what I was most worried about! I always order a water if I go out just for security for myself but not drinking with the meal hasn't been too hard. I do time right up to the thirty min after to drink tho and usually carry a drink with me wherever I go so I can have some as soon as the thirty min are up but a lot of that is so that I make sure I get in all the water I am supposed to drink every day. I promise u can do it!

While you were busy judging others you left your closet open and your skeletons fell out.

    Gurgle Noise In My Throat?

An interesting phenomenon, In this hemisphere the liquid in your pouch goes down clockwise, and in Australia, it goes counterclockwise (anticlockwise).

    Counting Calories

be safe count calories. we have been eating whatever, whenever, without any accountability to anyone or anything for a long time. After you get to goal, that is a different thing. At this point, I measure and weigh my food.

    TT complete! (Pics)

As I am newly banded, the thought of having the "TT" procedure did cross my mind. I dismissed it as just being too vain...until I saw the pictures you posted! What a difference...definitely the best reward for going through the weight loss. Thank you so much for sharing!!

I lucked out and don't have much ....flat stomach .... I would guess the worst area is my arms. FYI, exercise does nothing for loose skin. Of course the loose skin may look a bit better as it sags over harder muscles. We will all be different when it comes to loose skin. It depends on age, how many times pregnant, where we carry the weight, sun exposure, how much excess weight we have ....... In my case, I carried my excess weight all over. I am 47 years old and have quite a few years of excess sun exposure. I was only pregnant one time in my life and only gained 19 pounds. I now weigh about 2 pounds less than I did the day I delivered my son (who is 5 years older than you). I feel great with my results. At my age now, I would look too thin if I lost any more weight. A BMI of 24 is a good place for me. I don't need any plastic surgery.
