    Tomorrow Is The Big Day!

Boy, time sure did fly! I submitted to insurance on 1/18 and was approved 1/20. Surgery is tomorrow at 9:15am! I have to stay the night because my doctor requires it, so what did you guys pack to make the time go faster? Books? Cards? Computer? Any advice on what to expect right before and right after surgery? I'm so excited!

I Just Really Love My Sleeve

There hasn't been anything I've put in it that it doesn't like (that's a plus) I get a definite signal when I'm full (RARELY physically felt full before surgery) so no overeating Haven't had any issues with acid Haven't had any issue with pain. I feel satisfied at every meal. Its just a huge change. The steroid issues I had are getting so much better I have lots of energy. I am just finally on my way back to health. I almost feel like i'm turning back time.

How Long Does A "stuck" Last?

Cocobean, i didn't have food stuck that long but everytime I ate something even if is was just some soggy eggs, it got stuck. it didn't go down and i had to go cough it up. so i had to do liquids for that extra month or so. i too had a hernia repair and my doctor said that was part of the problem. once the swelling went down from that i guess, i was all good then. bread is a no no, i have found that i can eat it toasted with a little butter though. and i sure do miss it. I am 7 months post opt and i can't tell you how good i feel. I lost 33 pounds, so far. i haven't had any fills or adjustments. sometimes i still have the stuck stuff, like the other day i was eating somethning and i had to stop and go cough it up because it wouldn't go down but the key here is to chew, chew, chew,. no drinking while u eat. if i don't do anything else right i got that part locked down. well good luck with everything.

    Fear!

12 weeks to recover?? Did she have some complications? Wow that seems unusual to me. I really think about 2 weeks was what I needed. Of course take more if you can!!

I went to the location in Houston as well. My doctor is Dr. Hollis. I have been watching your posts...I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. I have been eating soft foods and it's going well; however, I had a protien shake today (the Gladiator from Smoothie King) and I guess I drank it too fast and thought I was going to die I felt so full. I walked on my treadmill and let out lots of burps and felt better. It's really hard to get used to what is enough and when to stop. I haven't lost anything in 3 days so I'm a little discouraged but hopefully I will soon...I'm doing all the right things, exercising, etc. so we will see. Let me know if you have any questions as I'm a little bit ahead of you...take care and enjoy your popsicles!

    Fear!

Everyone recovers differently, either due to pain tolerance, complications, desire, or a combination of them. I was full of energy on day 4. Haven't stopped since.

    Just Dance!

Well I'm totally committed (or my husband would say I need to BE committed!) to exercising. I know that the scale staying at 18lbs lost for a week was because I needed to get up and shake what my momma gave me! I am doing Zumba on Tuesdays/Thursdays, but I was searching for something I could do at home. Low and behold, I bought the Just Dance 3 for the Wii. HIGHLY recommend! Everynight when my hubby goes to bed I get my controller strapped on to my wrist and I go to town. I'm sure if anyone was videotaping me I would go viral instantly because I'm sure that is a funny site to see! It actually lets you keep track of your week and your "sweat points". Not sure really what that means, but I'll take it! NSV of the week: Going back to work and having two boxes of Krispy Kreme GLAZED donuts on the table and not even having a desire to eat one!
