I had to share this because I thought it was pretty funny... So I'm now down over 44 pounds and I haven't replaced any of my clothes yet. I'm holding out until 50 pounds then I'll pick up a couple things. Meanwhile, I'm very aware of how big my clothes are currently fitting me, including under garments. Tonight I was in Walmart with my son, daughter, and her boyfriend. It was rather crowded and I was pushing a very full cart of food. As always, I had my cell phone in my pocket. I am wearing cotton pants with an elastic waist, however, apparently the elastic isn't helping because I realized halfway through the store my pants kept sliding down my hips with every step. So I take the cell phone out of my pocket to stop the pulling, and I think all is fine. Well apparently my underwear are too big now, too. As I walked, I could feel them slipping down my hips. I kept putting my hands in my pockets trying to discreetly hike them back up, but eventually they'd slipped too low and it was a lost cause. I was stuck walking through Walmart with my undies nowhere near the parts they are meant to protect. By the time I got to my car, the waist band of my underwear was literally under my bottom, hanging out around my thighs, only being kept on at all by the crotch of my pants!! The kids and I all had a good laugh!

The band is only a tool! It doesn't choose the right low calorie foods for you, it doesn't take you to the gym and burn the calories for you! If you work the band and lose the weight, give yourself some credit! You may have already chosen to get the band but youre going to have to choose to do the things it takes to drop pounds too - and follow thru with them - so dont sell yourself short when youre successful. Telling people you have the band is a personal choice, especially considering the number of misconceptions, but don't brush off compliments like it wasn't your decisions & actions that got you looking fabulous!

If you're a person who holds a grudge and feels betrayed about something like that, then my guess is that your friend and your in-laws didn't share their WLS "secret" with you because they were afraid of hurting your tender feelings by suggesting that you're morbidly obese and should have bariatric surgery to deal with it. I see people every day (strangers, friends, acquaintances, coworkers, etc.) who I think could benefit from WLS, but it would be mighty intrusive and presumptuous of me to approach them and say, "You really need to consider bariatric surgery for your weight problem." Their weight is their own business, not mine.

    Arnolds Sandwich Thins

I love sandwich thins. I buy different brands, whatever is available (Pepperidge Farms, Arnolds, etc.. I usually use one half of it to toast and cover with scrambled egg in the morning sometimes. I also use them to make a little pizza. I put some Pizza Quick sauce, fat free cheese, and whatever toppings i want on it and stick it in the toaster oven. I love it just as good as regular pizza. I eat half of a slice with sloppy joe or sometimes spread a little pb or jelly on it. They are the best when you want a little bread- very low calorie and not too much carb count either. I usually buy the whole wheat or grain varieties.

To have to wait a week and a half is no time at all. I wouldn't stress about it. Just concentrate on eating healthily and not giving in to all the junk in the meantime.

    Hiatal Hernia Repair

I suspected I had a hernia, and I did! I've had breathing issues for about 10 years, it always felt like something was sitting on top of my diaphragm, it was the hernia... I also had esophageal adhesions I didn't know I had - from having bad asthma and some pretty bad bouts of bronchitis over the years. Had swallowing issues where sometimes food would get stuck and I'd have to burp it back up...this was BEFORE the band. Since I had the band and the adhesions and hernia repaired, I can breathe better and I have not had ONE stuck episode! I can eat steak (chewing it really well, small bites, of course) again without having to burp it back up! I LOVE my band!
