I think u need to discuss with the doctor how u are feeling and what is happening regarding your eating and lack of restriction. I have a size 14 band and am just over 7.25 fill, it does sound like u need more of a fill than u have but the problem is he will only put in as much fill as the water drink test indicates, a lot of doctors would do the same. It certainly would seem a good idea to request an xray or fill under flouroscopy, here in the UK they never fill using xrays but i see u are in the US so it may well be that u can request it. Asking for a 1cc fill i dont think sounds unreasonable especially as u seem to have little restriction at the moment so i would go for it My only concerns regarding some of your post are that you say that 'when u feel restriction you are going to want to eat the right things'.. making the right choices on food really isnt about restriction its about your resolve and comittment to making this band work for you. Some people can lose weight eating the same food just smaller amounts others have to change what they eat aswell. I look at the pouch the band makes like a shopping bag , even if u reduce the size of the shopping bag its still your choice what u put in it.. The band wont make healthy decisions for you only you can do that .. I know u probably know this and sorry for having to say it .. I really hope you do well at your appointment today and then maybe u can start again on taking control more. You dont mention exercise at all and that ofc for most is also key to making this band work so get moving if you arent doing any and maybe you can start losing again. I do eat low carb, low fat high protein and that formula works for me along with exercise everyday .. go for it !

6 months and a week ago, i had no health problems even with a 47 BMI - BUT i felt so disgusting. I hated clothes. I wore things just to hide myself. I knew I had a pretty face but that all others saw was the fat. Today, 6 months after surgery and 88 pounds later, I feel INCREDIBLE. i am all about what i'm wearing, my make up, I feel just plain unstoppable. I want you to know that yes there can be complications. I have experienced none so far (truly this is thanks to GOD and following my surgeon's instructions) - but they can happen. I am very, very sorry I did not do this 10 years ago (I'm 38). But i cannot dwell on that. This is a LIFE CHANGING thing if you let it be. I truly wish all of you the best of luck in your decision and if you have the surgery - the best of luck on your journey. It TRULY is a journey. God bless us all!!!!

So yesterday was my 6 month ban-anniversary. In six months I have lost 65 pounds and dropped 4 sizes. I am leaving for vacation to Europe in 3 weeks. All of this would not have been possible without my band. This has not been the easiest journey but I am lucky. Lucky I have had no issues with the band. I work out 4x a week and keep within my calorie limit using my fitness pal. I am hitting a bit of a wall with the diet I know it will pass. I think I need a fill I haven’t had one since November. I sometimes feel this head hunger is never going to leave me. Head hunger is my biggest struggle. I easily can 4 hours or more between eating and when I starting eating it is like I am starving. I am glad my band lets me know when it is time to stop. I am hoping in the next 6 months I will have this head hunger beat and keep up my weight loss, I am half way to my goal. The band is the best decision I have made ever and I wish I would have done it sooner.

    Alcohol Issues

I've heard with the band you metabolize alcohol faster with the band, in other words you get drunk faster with less alcohol.

    Advise, Help, Assistance

Hi Wendy, I am sorry to hear that you are feeling discouraged. The band is the tool that will help you lose that excess fat. The thing I have discovered about the band is that it makes me completely aware of everything that I eat. I struggle with eating too much, and eating the things that I should not be eating. The thing that I have found that works the best for me is having a strong support system of friends and family that are completely supportive of the effort I am putting into losing the weight. In a way you are right, at times we are our own worst enemy, but it isnt about making a bad choice and beating yourself up it is about what you do after you make the bad choice. Making bad choices with a diet can be completely discouraging and I am not saying that you shouldnt be feeling how you are feeling but I think it would be better for you if you make small goals for yourself and Celebrate reaching those. This process is a one step at a time process and the wieght will not melt off nearly as quickly as it was gained. I use the My Fitness Pal calorie tracker and it has helped me enormously. I find that it can be annoying and tedious at times as far as recording everything I have made and eaten but I also found that now the second someone offers me something that I know I shouldnt eat I take out my phone and look up the calories depending on my calorie goal I may or may not take it. More often then not I refuse food offered by friends or coworkers because I know that it will set me back and I did not put my body through this just to let myself down. You can do this, you are strong enough to make this work. Just believe that you made the right choice for yourself and hold your self accountable for everything you choose to eat and everything you choose not to eat. Good Luck with everything ~ Jules

I Feel Like I'm Gaining Instead Of Losing

You may have stalled, its normal while your body figures things out. I'm at that point. I pulled my yoga pants out of the dryer and put them on and they were TIGHT. Then I noticed that my hubby dried them on high heat - they shrunk a little haha.
