    Please Help! Hungry

I'm thinking this is more mind hunger than body hunger. It's a big change. I never feel hungry. My stomach never growls. Often I only eat once per day. I would focus on the fluid intake and this should get you over that hump.

    Please Help! Hungry

I wish I could give you some advice. I don't have an appetite at all. I have to set a timer so I can drink. My suggestion is measure your food based on your what the Dr. says and when you feel hungry do something. Take a walk, call a friend, read a book, write here on your blog. Wishing you the best!

    2 Pounds In One Day??

That's the reason you shouldn't weigh everyday - BUT I DO IT TOO!!! Your body fluctuates with regards to fluids. Next you'll see it come back down. Hang in there!

    2 Pounds In One Day??

This has happened to me on numerous occasions. I think I am doing really well, and lo and behold, the scale jumps a couple of pounds up from the previous day. It just happens some times. Don't forget, your body is getting used to the new habits you are forming and sometimes will rebell against not getting all the foods you were feeding it before. As for weighing in...I weigh every morning because that is the one incentive that really works for me. When I see the scale moving backwards, I am happy for the day, if I see it has stayed the same or moved up, ugh, I make a new committment to losing those pounds. I don't think missing one day at the gym will set you back. Hang in there. Just keep following the rules. It is tough for us bandsters at times. (I just keep thinking of the end when I shed all the excess poundage...TUMMY TUCK, TUMMY TUCK, TUMMY TUCK)

Its so great that you now have the support you longed for! We can all support you here, but there is nothing like the support (or lack of) from a family member. I know its hard with the cake, but remember the band allows you to have everything in moderation, try having a portion much smaller than a portion you would usually have. But if you think that will set you on a rampage (I cant have stuff like that around without it callllllling me!) then maybe you better stay away!

    Keeping It Real

Oh my goodness! Keeping things real has been on my mind lately because with being overweight, I have tended to put on the Pollyanna face and kept people at a safe distance for fear they would see the "real" me. As if they can't already see the real me with my weight issues. I prayed yesterday for God to show me how to be more real and not feel like I have to present myself in a certain way to be liked. I have value that runs far deeper than jewelry and makeup. I am still a major work in progress but I understand completely what you are saying. Praise God for showing us how to keep it real!

    Sooo Shocked!

Way to go!!! I got My butt into a 16 and was shocked. I had just bought a pair of jeans 18 the week before. I scale hadn't changed but a pound or two back and forth but the 16's I bought for next month fit. They were tight at begining of last week and zipped right up by Friday morning.14 seems so far way for me- It's been forever since I own a 14. I can't wait for that day. You are awesome! What a great feeling. Keep up the great work.

A Few Thousands Of Dollars For What.....

Glenda, you have not wasted thousands of dollars. I know you read my blogs and have heard me preach about this being a tool. I also had wonderful ideals that I would never have to watch another calorie in my life and had hoped that my band would tell me when to stop. But I have come to realize that the band will do all of those things but only if I listen and stick to the plan. I hope and pray I never have to have another fill, I like being able to eat just about anything I want these days, know that I have to be accountable to my self. I have restriction and I am in the green zone. You can do this, and it does take a lot of will power in the beginning until you get to the sweet spot but once there it is easier but never forget it is still you managing your behavior not the band it is there as a friendly reminder when you do something really stupid. Like eat to fast, not chew or over eat. The one thing I have to be careful of now is not drinking while eating, in the beginning I did this very well but the longer your banded the easier it is to slip back into some bad behaviors. Good luck and keep blogging. Diane
