4 pointsI found this years ago, and while it sounds crazy, I always listen to what it says lol. 1. Thou shalt consume thy Protein first, followed by thy veggies and fruits. If thou, then hast any room left thou shalt comusme thy carbs lastly! 2. Thou shalt take the tiniest of bites, placing thy fork and thy spoon upon thine table, that thou shalt have more time between bites to savor that which thou hast eaten, and allow thy stomach adequate time to inform thy brain of thine fullness. 3. Thou shalt chew and chew and when thou has done so, thou shalt chew some more, lest thy band rise up and smite thee, causing in thy chest great pain, and spewing forth. 4. Thou shalt drink of thy Water, copiously, consuming all that has been recommended to thee, that thou mayest be spared the pangs of hunger and dehydration, and thou shalt thus, also keep thy kidneys well flushed, that thou shalt not develop stones to aggrieve thee. 5. Thou shalt exercise in a manner that thou mayest choose, of thine own accord, providing that thou art faithful to thine execise regimen, that thou shalt not falter on thy journey to thine smaller self. 6. Thou shalt honor thy band and maintain it well, that it shalt be a steadfast friend to thee throughout thine entire life. Thou wilt, from time to time, as thou hast been told, obtain for it the fills that it needest that it may then help thee in thy hours of need, keeping it always in perfect adjustment for thine benefit. 7. Thou shalt not worry and gnash thy teeth, becoming aggrieved at those times when thy losses seemingly stop and thy weight remaineth constant, remembering then that thou tookest long to acquire thine pounds, and that thy pounds must then take time for loss. 8. Thou shalt maintain a log or dairy of thine measurements, that thou mayest truly perceive the effect of they band when thine scale doth pause in it's downward progress. 9. Thou shalt join into and participate within thy local support community, for without the input, experience and love of they fellow bandsters, thou shalt have a much more difficult time in thy journey, and when thou art well upon thy road, thou shalt then likewise assist those who followest in thine footsteps that they too might be successful in their own diminishment. 10. Thou shalt beware of thine " soft calories syndrome", keeping always in thy mind that thou canst thus sabotage thine efforts and thine investment and lead thee then therefore into depression and guilt. As once stated "Just because thou canst, it meaneth not that thou shouldith".

Big Week One Weight Loss - Is This Normal? And Other Questions
horsegirl315 and one other reacted to elcee for a post in a topic
It depends on how heavy you are and how much you have to lose. If you are 60lb overweight then no it would not be normal. If you are 160 or 260lb overweight then it is probably not unheard of. A lot of that weight could be Water as well. You may find that your weight loss slows down or even stops for a couple of weeks whilst your body catches up. If it does don't panic. No it is not OK to zoom through the steps the way you have unless you have been given the go ahead by your Dr.. I have just explained in another thread the reason why following your Dr's instructions postop are so important. I don't understand why people go through this process, trust the Dr with their lives and then as soon as they are out of surgery decide that it is OK to ignore what he/she has told them.Doing what we wanted prior to surgery is what made us obese in the first place. If we carry on thinking we know better and doing what we want then we are likely to stay obese. So hard is it may be i think you need to ensure that you are doing what you have been told you should do. Nobody said it would be easy, it's not, but we have all been there and got through it so I am sure you can too. It is such a short length of time in the big scheme of things and as soon as you start getting fills it will get easier. -

Banded 12/27
Pam72 reacted to blondiepierce for a post in a topic
Just wanted to introduce myself. I was banded 12/27 and tomorrow will make 4 weeks since then. As of today, I'm down 17 lbs from the weigh in the morning of surgery. I had the iLap procedure (with stomach plication). My co-workers and most of my family have been very supportive (with the exception of my mother in law). What I have come to realize is that a positive mental attitude is key. I've changed my entire outlook on eating. Not as a thing to socialize at, or do when bored, but as something to provide nutrients for my body. I may have gone a bit overboard, but I now eat organic as much as possible and make sure I have my daily vitamins and protein. I'm working out 4-5 times a week starting off slow and building up. No one can go in from being a couch potato and expect to get on the treadmill for an hour. I started with 20 minutes have worked out up 30 and added weights to help tone up. Any other workout suggestions would be great. I'm so glad to have found a place with others in my situation. -

Even My Credit Card Company Knows Im Fat?
whitetiger011680 reacted to horsegirl315 for a post in a topic
Got a call from the fraud dept with my credit card company today...they made me hold, then an account representative came on the line to ask me if a recent "uncharacteristic" purchase in the amount of $119 paid to bodybuilding.com was a legit purchase. I literally laughed my butt off. I said, geez! Can't a girl have a new years resolution?! I confirmed the charge, which was my post op Protein powders, and one item I ordered for my mom, and the account rep wished me well...just thought I would share with you guys, hopefully you find it as funny as I did!! -

So Frustrated...
ready for my journey to be reacted to honk for a post in a topic
Most people would'nt drink in front of someone who is recently gone sober; but don't realize that a food addict has the same issues. While your family does still need to eat they could be more understanding. I went to breakfast with my sister about 8 months out and she ordered fresh made donut holes; but when they arrived she said "Do you want me to put them on the booth seat so you don't have to look at them?? " Did not bother me that they were on the table but she did ask. -

From Alberta, Canada Being Banded March 2Nd In Vancouver.

I wouldn't worry about choosing the Band over other proceedures because the Band is so non-invasive that you can still go for something else down the road. Congrats on taking the rights steps! -

After 15 Years Of Marriage It Finally Happened Today......
sunshineinbama reacted to cyn2011 for a post in a topic
I was heavier when I met my future hubby. Prob about 20 lbs more. He joined the navy, we got married. He lost weight and I gained more. Two kids and 15 yrs later I was about 60 lbs more than him. Now that I weigh less I don't plan on going back. He came home Tuesday with all these vitamins and has decided to get in shape:). I'm glad we are getting healthier for ourselves and our kids. -

Getting Cold Feet?!
#MagicWithinme reacted to Humming Bird for a post in a topic
Many of us go through those same thoughts and feelings. Many of us also have a stage just after being banded where we think, "OMG, what have I done to myself?!" You are going through the "normal" mental process. It will be ok. Keep your eye on the prize! It is so worth it! This is something you are doing good for yourself.
