Yes, I went through 6 months of dr supervised nutrition classes, sleep study, psych eval, x-rays, blood work, etc. I'm glad that it took six months because during this time I became more knowledgeable of what I'm doing, why I'm doing this, what to expect, and to just feel much more comfortable with the entire process. I didn't want a quick approval process. I feel I'm more prepared and ready to undergo surgery, deal with the post-surgery issues and begin my new lifestyle. Good luck to everyone! Peg

Honestly, he may of had an "off" day but you should go with your gut. Liking his staff is certainly a plus! I saw my surgeon for the consult and about 5 minutes before surgery. Beyond that, my appointments were done with her assistant or staff which is not something they tell you. Go with your gut or know that someone with better bedside manner may handle your other appointments. If he's a good surgeon, you may want to stick around.... Good luck!

Hi, just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Day five and I am feeling great, I am handling the liquid diet like a champion!!!! I can tell in my face that I have lost weight. First Blog. Please Read.

Welcome Tiffany.......I had the lapband 2 years ago and I had about 170 pouds to lose. i lost around 90 with the band and then I hit a wall that would not move and my band was at full fill. I wanted to have the sleeve but my insurance said no so I went to Mexico and on Dec 11 I have the band removed and a sleeve done. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have lost 29 pounds in 4 weeks and I am on cloud 9. My first question for you is how much weight do you need to lose? The band is fine and reversable but you still have problems as you do with the sleeve. I wish that I had done the sleeve in the first place 2 years ago and I would have been where I want to be a long time ago. I would be glad to chat anytime and answer any more questions that you have.

I Feel Real Crackish Right Now ... Lol!

You can make it just keep yourself busy. If you feel like you are about to slip get up and go into the bathroom and take a nice bath or shower. You will feel better when you are finished. just remember the reward is worth the sacrifice.

Hey, don't worry we all will be drop dead HOT soon enough. Don't ever think the way someone remembers us is a bad thing. It just means we have a spot in their memory bank. Better to be here on earth than not. Big or small. Keep your head up and working hard. Crystal

Just take a DEEP breath, and follow all the steps they tell you to. Its not uncommon for them to require 6 months of documented weigthloss attempts. Sometimes I really think they are attempting to wear your resolve, and hope you'll get frustrated and just walk away MAD..................don't give it to them presist
