    Dear Bandster Hell....you Suck!

    Love your post! I feel like that some days about exercise, but I know if I do not drag myself out to the gym I will return to old habits and being down 130 pounds makes it all worth it! @ formerly fluffy I am yet to be at good restriction, it takes will power to say no to foods we should not eat and knowing when to stop eating what we do. I have learned the difference between being satisfied and being full.

    That's great. What a good feeling. When I was about a 16, I put on a pair of size 30 jeans...both legs in one side, and walked into the living room. I said to my daughter, "Hey, Maggie. Look, there's room for you in here too!" "Mom, you're such a dork!" "Yea, but I'm a skinny dork!" Here's to being a dork!!!

    Protein Drinks Or Snacks

    There are many different types out there...are you looking for a thinner liquid or do you like thick texture? My go to now is Isopure smoothies which are fruit flavored 180 - 210 calories for 32 grams of protein. I use powdered flavored protein in milk or coffee...(cool coffee otherwise it clumps!). I also use the high protein low carb Slimfast ready to drink as a change of pace...at our support group meetings sometimes we have tastings so we don't have to buy or get stuck with proteins we don't like. Good luck.... haven't found a "good" protein bar yet but that's me... Linda

    For me, the band is not a "tool" because I think of a tool as an object I have to manipulate in some way to make it work. A tool is something I myself have to put effort in to get the job done. The band has worked more like a mechanical device. The device is wrapped around my stomach and does restrict the types of food I am able to eat as well as restricting the amount of food I can eat. I have not eaten a normal size plate of food since July 2009. I lost 100 pounds in the first year with very little effort.

    One of the best things you can do for your own self, and Surgeons Office is the following. Invest in 2 pocket folders. Every time you go to anyone get weighed, and get the print out. make a copy for your own file, and turn one in, when it's time for surgery. If they say "it's o.k., we have it all !" Then not a problem, but if they are missing anything ! They have it now. You keep copy's of everything in one of those folders, just in case they ask for something later on. Trust me,,, it does happen. But you are right ! Keep close tabs on everything, after all, it's your surgery.

    I was Banded Dec 1st,2011. My BMI was right at 35.. im 5'9 and at surgery I was 235. Hate being tall , but I think it helped.

    I felt the same way!!! Broth and jello actually sounded good from the preop stage. Right now I am able to eat broth, jello, cream soups, pudding and custard, cream of wheat, milk (all fat free and sugar free of course.... And low cal) but it feels good to have choices. I can see where this one will get boring as well... But I can only eat 1/2 cup of most thingsright now anyway...

    OK, everyone - its down to the official countdown: I'm having my surgery at 7:30am on Friday (12/30)! I'm excited and ready, but I realized today how much I'm going to have to change my thinking when I was trying to figure out what to cook on New Year's Day!! I honestly didn't know how important food is to me. Any suggestions??? I really could use some hand holding right now...
