Here is princess_n_thep "Here is Princess_n_Thep remarks on this picture" princess_n_thep: THESE PICTURES ARE 12 DAYS POST OP! Both pictures show the very minmal scars/incisions. The bruising I had was very minimal. The brown/yellow rings you see around the actual incisions is NOT bruising but is the leftover "superglue" still. I take a shower EVERY day and wash them but they are slow to come off. From what I gather, they "glue" the incisions, let that dry, then put a "coating of glue" over and around the incisions again. The scab had just fallen off on the top incision so it is a little pink, my bra had scuffed it off. The only real bruising i got was the one top of the belly button. The one that was the most sore was the longer port incision. I am VERY happy with the size of them and the expertise in the cut! I know that I am a fast healer but I expect that I would be hard pressed to find the smaller ones in 6 months. I will just keep posting updates on this thread as I go along. I plan to take another picture at 6-8 weeks post op, another at 6 mo, then another at a year. ENJOY MY BELLY!!!!!!!! princess_n_thep

Before I had my TT, I also wanted a thigh lift. The upper inner parts of my thighs were saggy and just didn't look good in a swimsuit. I also wanted breast implants and my surgeon would only do 2 procedures at a time so I chose the TT and implants. Well now I don't really need the thigh lift. It turns out if most of your thigh sag is at the very top and your doc does a really good TT that skin will be stretched and pulled up when they pull up all the groin skin. I'm not saying my thighs are beautiful and perfect now but they definitely are not saggy enough for me to spend the money or time on a thigh lift. I am so happy with my figure now:)

Congratulations! I was banded December 9. My first follow up visit was a week ago & I am down 25 pounds! My pants are already loose! My first fill will be Jan 16 -- a little scared, but I know that everything will go well. I started soft foods now. Let me tell you that scrambled egg I made (using Egg Beaters) was the best thing in the world! My son & I even took a 30 minute walk today -- which made me tired, but also gave me confidence that I can do it! I have a long way to go, but it truly is "one day at a time". Best of luck on you journey!

You and i sound alike! I am a grad student, and i too stalled at my 3 weeks mark!! I thought about buying those shots, i have been using EAS as a filler, but i hate it so i have been mixing it into smoothies. Sorry to hear about your childhood home, that had to be very difficult. I am going to add exercise in the hopes to get my energy level up and the losing going. Happy new year!

    Gotta Quit Smoking...

I just quit last week. I am using an electronic cigarette for the tactile cravings...there are different nicotine strengths you can get. I am using the 0% right now.

Good morning VST!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and if you were anything like me, the pounds did NOT creep up this time! Yayyy!! LOL I wanted to touch on one subject, as I've seen a huge amount of posts lately commenting on their stalls, or slow losses. I feel this is an important subject because it can really get into our heads. Firstly you are not alone, and I myself have felt this too. Though here's what kept me moving, and kept my head in the game so to speak. In this journey the BEST ASSETS you will have are #1 Patience, #2 Positivity and #3 Perseverence. The 3 P's!!! These three virtues are a MUST in this journey. Patience: All good things come to those who wait. You didn't gain 100+ Lbs overnight and you're not going to lose it that way either. You likely gained it over many years worth of time, so think of it like this - you will still lose that weight in the fraction of the amount of time it took you to gain it. No matter how "slow" you think your losses are happening it is still GREATLY faster than your gain. You are still WAY ahead of the game, no matter how you slice it. Positivity: This is going to be a very rough journey. You're not always going to enjoy all the effects of your weight loss surgery. But regardless you will have to keep your outlook bright! If you have to, keep a list of all the things pre-surgery that you are looking forward to. Check them off as they happen, keep it around close when you just need that extra lift of motivation. Looking back is just as important as looking forward on this road to wellness. Speaking of looking forward... check out the Success Stories Forum. Look for Sleevers who are no less than one year post op. Check their befores and afters. YOU WILL BE AMAZED!! Trust me, we didn't lose overnight either. Also, taking before and after photos are super helpful as is taking monthly or bi weekly measurements. The scale is rarely going to say what you really want it to. If it does every time, that's great! Consider yourself lucky!! Perseverence: You know the saying, when the going gets tough... the tough gets going. You will find this is true in this journey. Again I say, nothing about WLS is easy! We may think of it a miracle, a cure from obesity and in some ways it really is. I thank GOD daily for it and having the means to have mine, BUT I do also know being that I'm 15+ months out and having hit so many goals I've lost count that it is STILL a lot of hard work!! You will find that to truly become healthy you're going to have to find some kind of physical activity that you can both handle without injury and keep to some type of good eating regimen. Call it diet or choose not too, doesn't matter. You're not going to hit your goals in any kind of healthy way by eating all your calories on M&M's... know what I mean? However some things I refused to ever do was to give up, give in or beat myself up for being what in the real world is called being human. I have eaten M&M's and by golly I sure don't regret it! I still hit all my goals and had a little bit of fun along the way. You just have to make all the right choices, but at the right times too. That's all I have to say about that... I do hope this helps - and as we are in the middle of Winter where its way too cold for outside activities (at least for me it is!) and all the best eating is all around us, that we can just keep up the hard work that goes into getting to the finish line. If you maintain all three P's, you WILL GET THERE. For sure. Source: Giving It Time To Work...

    Trouble with chicken?

If you are talking about chicken breasts, yes! I can't eat chicken breasts unless they have sauce on them. They are just too dry. Turkey, neither, by the way. But, I can eat chicken thighs okay, and dark meat, just stay away from gristle and skin. You should be okay with a tomato sauce, like chicken parm. or white sauce, though. Good luck Karen

    Protein Shakes

Hi. I have been asking the same question lately. So far I have tried Muscle Milk chocolate and EAS 100% whey Protein chocolate. Of these 2 the Muscle Milk is better but it has a little more carbs. They are both drinkable to me when mixed with skim milk and crushed ice. Someone suggested to freeze some milk in cubes to make them icy without watering them down. Others suggest adding sugar free pudding powder to make them taste better. I haven't tried that yet but I am going to. I like the Muscle Milk but some others here say it gags them. So you really just need to sample some and find what you can live with. Good luck!
