Don't know if this will make you feel any better, but the day if my surgery, after I was gowned and in the surgery suite I absolutely flipped out! Crying, shaking, couldn't breath the whole 9 yards. They had to bring my husband back to help calm me down, not to mention the meds they put in my iv...lol. You are completely normal sugar, and we've all been there. So if you need to flip out, go for it. It's part of the process, your losing the only way of life you've ever known. It's scary, and exciting, and completely nerve wracking. It's ok to feel what you feel, just don't let it change your mind...and remember if you need to talk, we're all here for ya!! Good luck!!! So here I am 6 days out of surgery.. it has been one hell of a journey already. Up until today I was getting dangerously close to being hospitalized for dehydration. And to make matters worse the gas pains were unbearable. And the icing on the cake.. aunt flow decided to start two days after surgery.. lol.. lucky me. So night before last I had asked my mom to get me some gas x, which really really really helped. And thankfully my periods only last about 3 days and are very light, so today it ended.. whew! When I woke up this morning I felt like a new person.. no gas pain, no cramps, just a little tenderness near my incisions was all the discomfort I felt. I was so excited that I decided to go for a walk outside.. which is nice because I literally hadn’t been outside since I had the surgery. I barely got out of bed for most of the 6 days. But, today I went for a walk around the block which was about a mile and a half and it felt GOOD!!!!!! Furthermore, I decided to weigh myself…. He he he.. this is where I just got a huge grin… on the day of surgery 12-12-11 I weighed in 238.1….. as of today 12-18-11 I weigh 230! I haven’t seen that number in over a year! And what really made me laugh is I have an appetite, so I go eat my jello or my cream of wheat and take a few bites and im stuffed! The only thing that goes thru my head is… HELL YEAH BABY!!!! I LOVE MY NEW TUMMY.. I AM GONNA LOVE TO EAT AND FEEL FULL EARLY IN THE MEAL AND NOT FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO DEVOUR MY ENTIRE LASAGNA THAT I COULD HAVE GOTTEN FROM BUCA DI BEPPO (FAMILY STYLE RESTAURANT) BASICALLY YOU ARE REALLY NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT AND ENTIRE PLATE TO YOUR SELF!. In fact I wake up and I WANT let me repeat that I WANT TO START EXERCISING…. I almost can’t wait. In 6 days I dropped 8 lbs, my face I already thinner, I am freakin happy, and I have energy. VSG---- I LOVE YOU!

    Not Be A Humbug But....

I have had tastes of things because I would rather do that then overdue it later. I lost weight over thanksgiving and I had a little of everything. The lab band does not have to make your holidays different, you just have a little less

Jay Robb has a good vanilla. I've bought single-serve packets at my grocery store. Also hear muscle milk cake batter is delicious. Wanting to try that next. Let us know what you try and how you like it.

I get people being scared, it is a transition that is getting us away from the norm. A lot of us have gotten us to the idea of being overweight and eating horrible food. Most have been doing eat the majority of their lives. It started @ childhood for must, I remember my Mom making my plate as a child and we didn't waste food. So you cleaned your plate, full or not you finished. We have developed that mindset as an adult. I found myself using the same method with my children. I am breaking that cycle, I do not want them dealing with weight issues. This will force us to break bad old habits! You will do great, we are here for you and will support you.

    The Order of Operations...

Looking at it again and the sum would make far more sense if it had brackets in , the lack thereof is what leads to the confusion!

    My First Ever Blog

Hello my friend you do have many reasons to live! First for yourself and second for your beautiful son! Really the list could go on and on. You will take the time and research we all do. It can be a long process. I commend you. I can tell you that your life and health will improve. I was banded way back in June 2009 and have never regretted it. I have kept off a one hundred pound loss. Just remember it is not about the number of pounds ( it's not a diet) it becomes a way of life, but about how you feel on your journey. Follow the rules and you will be successful. Welcome and Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog

Having A Hard Go Of It

I started this journey at 371lbs, 5'9". I could barely walk around the block. I started everyday just adding an extra 5 minutes before you know it I was able to do more. Look into getting a trainer for a while that was the thing that pushed me to do things that I never thought would be possible. If you can swing it it would be totally worth it. Just get moving everyday and push yourself. Do you have a friend that you can work out with or just take a walk with? In the beginning I hated it but I knew I had to keep at it if i wanted to be successful. Now it is hard to believe but I actually like it and feel guilty if i miss a day! Who would've have thought? Only 9 months ago my exercise was walking to my car... You can do it!! You are young and strong! BTW, I can't stand the sight of Leslie Sansone either. I don't know what it is but I can't take her for one minute!! Good luck to you!!
