    100 Pounds Gone!

It's been 16 months since I had the Gov'ner installed and I have lost 100 pounds! Woo Hoo! From 344 to 244, from 56" waist to a 42", from knee pain to running steps, to a completely new wardrobe. I have 44 more pounds to lose to reach my goal but the finish line is in sight! Ya'll have a Merry Christmas.

    The Lap Band Really Works!!!!

I am so excited and thought I would share...down 23 pounds in 20 days!!! I was banded on Nov. 22nd, and didn't have to do a pre-op diet. My surgeon said he was very impressed with my progress! I have one more week of soft foods, then transition back to regular foods. A little worried...hoping I will continue to be able to lose at this rate.

    Day 1 After Lap Band

First day after surgery and I'm sore. I have sneezed today and boy does that hurt too. I have been up walking around the house but thats about it. Just up and down today. Fluids have been well today. Been keeping track of my intake and output. Breakfast: 2 ounces Nectar Protein Shake 2 ounces Gelatin Drink. Then every 20 minutes eating some ice chips. Lunch: 2 ounces of Broth 2 ounces Propel Zero. More ice chips between. Dinner: 2 ounces protein drink 2 ounces Broth. More ice chips. Able to keep it all down. No nausea today. I have been voiding well too so I must be getting enough fluids. Day 2 tomorrow will probably be about the same. Going to try and include some sugar free popsicles tomorrow to change it up a bit. I got on the chat in here earlier and it was very informative. Looks like Im doing what I should be. Hoping tomorrow will be a less sore day for me. Have a great night!

    Others Comments

i have heard the same comment and why dont you just stop eating and use some self control! WELL WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT instead of risking my life having major surgery, taking off work, being in pain, not eating "normal food" for almost 2 months! People can be soooo insensitive and retarded at times. I wish I hadnt told some of the people I did. Who can live on drinking liquids only, are they serious! Still to this site and you'll get plenty of support, some will even give you a verbal cyber hand slap when needed! LOL! this site helped me get thru my first few months. feel free to check out my blog(although i havent been good at keeping it up lately) or inbox me with any questions. Best wishes hun! jennifer

Biggest fear was not loosing any weight. There is a small percentage of people that the band doenst work for...I am NOT ONE OF THOSE! HA! Love the decision I made. Period.

I will just say that 1 in 3 people who get WLS fails. So instead of getting indigent, I will be happy with the fact that those who are doing it wrong will be that 1 and I will be one of the 2 who will be successful. I had to get that out. Because I can't just post where it's pissing me off, "WTF, you're doing it wrong! Do you want to be successful or not?!"
