    Pre Lap Band Surgery Diet

Hello, I am a newbie. I am currently in my pre-op diet phase where I drink liquids. My surgeon has me eating/drinking medifast food. Some of it is awful. I am struggling here. I want some real food. Things are getting easier but I struggle with some of these food choices. What did/are you doing to help you get through this face? My surgery is 12/22, no turning back now.

I did and it was fine. I only had about half a glass but I didn't even feel anything from it.

    New To Lap Band Surgery

Hey all I had surgery on Thursday Sep 30th starting weight 254 and I went in on monday to get weighed because I had a minor rash around my naval and I weighed 243 not bad. But today i am really saddened because I for some reason became really hungry and the liquids weren't filling me up so I had some really soft bread and chicken. To my surprise it wasn't even half of what i usually eat but i still had it any help?????

Hello Claud, Welcome to the forum! I had the lapband with plication surgery on August 11, 2011. I have had huge success with my weight loss. As of today, I have lost 71 pounds. I started at 253 and am now weighing in at 182. I have had very consistent weight loss at a good pace. I have not hit that yucky plateau yet. My biggest piece of advice to you though is the exercize is key, so though your activity may be limited due to your health issues, do what you can to start off and as the weight drops you should be able to do more. I am enjoying life and living a very active life- roller skating, snow skiing, bike riding, etc. You name it, I am doing it. I too had hbp and knee problems, but I am feeling great now. Good luck with your journey! Work hard and you will do fine!

There are pkenty of low carbers around ho will tell you ketosis is a good thing and the way your body is meant to run. Now you know just how dangerous and stupid tha is. You cannot live on protein alone, you need good carbs too and at this stage even yogurt, pudding and custard are acceptable. Blend som frui into purprotein shakes for example.
