    100 Pounds Gone!

It's been 16 months since I had the Gov'ner installed and I have lost 100 pounds! Woo Hoo! From 344 to 244, from 56" waist to a 42", from knee pain to running steps, to a completely new wardrobe. I have 44 more pounds to lose to reach my goal but the finish line is in sight! Ya'll have a Merry Christmas.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Posted not long ago, but thought I'd post again. The reason is that I'm no longer considered being overweight from a BMI standpoint. Currently at 105lbs down (263 to 158). The largest pants I bought were a size 24. I just bought a pair that were a size 6. The largest shirt size I bought was a 3X. I'm now buying size Small.

New To The Site My Lapband Journey

Not sure really where to start other than I had my lapband surgery on April 6th 2011, it was the best thing I have ever done even though I have had my rough patches at times. I am still learning how to eat I know it sounds funny but if you have had the procedure done you know what I am talking about. I was one who would sit down and eat fast and large bites my whole life and that has been a hard change for me and still trying to make that adjustment. My weight loss has gone pretty well I am 8 months out since surgery and have lost 91 pounds. I guess that is good really have not talked to anyone else who has had the surgery so not sure if that is pretty good or not. I feel better and have cut out alot of things I use to eat that made me fell like crap. Anyways that is a little of my story. Thanks for letting me tell you a little of my journey since my lapband surgery

I asked for Deloted (sp) 2mg...I take one pill every 2 hrs instead of 2 every four....it keeps me comfortable, not pain-free. As for the Gasx strips...over priced gimmic....buy the generic pills or chews...they have 2x the active ingredient and cost much less...it will help some, but nothing will prepare you for or solve the post-op gas pain you will likely experience. Just going to have to suck it up I am afraid.... I found a watery cream of wheat day 3+ makes me feel better than Jello or any cold liquid....I will be thinking of you!

Did you go through any pre op clearance at all? With the amount i have been through, (see my signature) I would never take such a cavalier attitude with eating with my band. I was annoyed at first with the amount of teating, but i honestly feel like it made me want it more, and realize, this is not a joke. It's life. MY life . And I'm saving myself from and early death. You need to stop and think!

    Want A Lap Band Unfill

I dont understand why people have surgery to lose weight but then want a break? If your diabetic do you take a break from your diet or medication? If you have high blood pressure do you take a break from your medication? If you cant eat meat then your too tight and especially if your having acid reflux. You should be able to eat normal with the band just less it shouldnt be a burden. But a vacation from it why would you want to go back to eating like that? The thought of pigging out makes me sick and I hate to see people eat like that.

    Tolerating milk

I find it interesting how Doctors all vary in their post op diet...I am on full liquids/pureed food (I am 11 days post-op) and i am able to have Protein Shakes I dont have to wait till next week to start them with my mushies. I have not had problems with milk or milk based foods after band but i did before i was banded and had to really limit them from my diet. Now I find my self able to eat yogurt and creamed Soups I even put milk in my protein shakes. Good luck on your journey!!! p.s How do you make a smore Protein shake that sounds delish!!!
