Will This Liquid Diet Ever End? :/

I had the same experience. During my pre-op diet I ate at least a very small portion of protien and still lost the weight my doc needed me to lose. Do not go crazy stay away from the things that got you here, sweets and carbs. But get ready for several months of this.. The Post Op diet is not any better until your stomach heals.. Hang in there your moving into a life style change that takes time to adjust.

Will This Liquid Diet Ever End? :/

Eight pounds in eight days is great! I remember my pre-op diet...it was pure torture. I felt like I cheated at least twice a day. My doc never really asked me about it except for the last two days before surgery it was really important to him that I stayed on clear liquids only. Stay strong and remember that IT GETS BETTER! In a few months this will be a faint memory compared to all the new ones you'll be making as your new, skinny self. Best of luck!

    Im Scared, Pre-op

I know youre scared but surgery has helped thousands of people. The risk is less than 1 percent of something going wrong. The risk of weighing 300 and living is much higher. Everyone of us want to live a better life, that is why we are doing this , to LIVE ! People want to bring us down for what ever reason. This is our well thought out and researched decision. I believe the Lord brought me to this place and he will take me where I need to go. Be strong and LIVE!

    Approved Today

My insurance company is Blue Cross Blue Shield for Federal Employees. I had to follow a 3 month doctor supervised diet, have 2 years documentation of being obese, my BMI was high enough that I didn't need a comorbidity listed, but we did have documented in my medical record that I was insulin resistant, had a few episodes of high blood pressure, and joint pain. I kept a 3 month log of activity, meal plan and vital signs (blood pressures and pulse) and turned it in to add to my medical record. I really think this helped them see that I was serious about sticking with the plan. I had to be seen and evaluated by a psychiatrist and nutritionist. I met with a personal trainer (that wasn't required) and had them make a plan for me too to show the surgeon and insurance company. I was literally approved in 24 hours and I was stunned. I hope you get approved soon too. Take care, Jen
