    Throwing In The Towel

My fill level means I cant overeat, its as simple as that. And yes, sometimes I still try to overeat and its very painful. I had two very long plateaus (Many months) where I thought my restriction was good so I resisted getting a fill. I guess my restriction was only good enough to maintain that weight and I didnt want to settle for that. I dont have a lot of discipline and I need a nice snug fill to keep me thin...try a fill instead of giving up...what do you have to lose?

It went really well. He was awesome! I am kinda a sarcastic jokester, and he was too so it was perfect! He told me all the pro's and con's, and asked if I wanted the sleeve (insurance won't cover it, so thats a no). Then he told me to schedule my surgery! He told me he was extremely confident that I would be at my goal weight within a year if I stay motivated with my diet and exercise. He thought it was funny that my children (3 & 5), exercise with me. They even keep me on track when I don't want to do it! He told me I should have my surgery now, and not wait until February, so I was all on board, but when I called the surgery scheduler, she said that he doesnt know how scheduling works, and she jokingly said that he just shows up, and doesn't know how it works behind the scenes! So February it is. Once my insurance gets accepted they are going to call me to schedule!!! YAY!

Congrats on the decision to move forward with the Lap Band. I think the urge to vomit will depend on how you handle the anesthesia they use. The banding itself should not cause you to vomit. As for eating again, I was banded on November 18th and after the first two weeks I can eat almost anything. No I haven't tried bread, the stories at the support group meetings about bread have me leery of even attempting it. The hardest thing I had to contend with was coming to terms with my obsession and affair with food. It was something I was not even aware of. Mentally the doctors can't prepare you for that. It was in those two weeks that I realized just how much I relied on food to get me through each day. That feeling has lessoned quite a bit. You can expect to feel uncomfortable but keep yourself hydrated and you will feel better much faster. I'm sure your doctor suggested you keep a journal of your fluid intake, but if they didn't it will help tremendously to help you feel better post surgery. I wish you the best tomorrow.

I didn't feel restriction until 6 months after surgery and 9.5 cc in my band. I was frustrated too. But now I'm two pounds from a normal BMI so it will work if you hang in there.

Isn't it funny how people are so fast to say you're too skinny, to your face. But when you're heavy, it was said/thought behind your back? Can't wait to be on the skinny side

Last week was hard for me also. I only went to the gym once and I went to a Zumba class for the first time. I don't feel like I got much for the Zumba class because I was totally lost and couldn't keep up. I know that I need more exercise than that or I will start gaining my weight back. Of course, my monthly cycle doesn't help matters. My plan is to hit the gym hard next week. Winter time is definitely a weakness for me but I have to do this in order to keep the success going. I have worked too hard to lose this week and I can't backslide now. I know you can do it but I know exactly how you feel right now. I wished that I had a partner to exercise with. I know that would motivate me more

WELL HERE IN MONTREAL ITS FREE!!!!!!! the gvt pays for it.. which is great...u just need to get on a waiting list.. i started my process in august and will b getting band next week..which i find amazing didnt have to wait at all..my other option was to get it done at a provate clinique which was asking me 16 000$ and i would get my band within a month..honestly things taste better when they r free!! some other floks i know decided to go 2 mexico paid 3000 $ but once they got back home and needed medical attention..concerning the lapband..no i mean NO doctor wanted to help them.. because it wasnt their business! so honestly...i if u look at the full ppicture. it aint worth it..u live in europe so its easier for u! anyways i think that everyone has a choice, what is worth something for u doesnt mean that its worth something for someone else..so dont judge and b happy with ur OWN decisions..

I agree with you - live your life - drink in moderation and count the calories in your daily intake. I have a margarita when I want one and I am still losing weight - my first one was about 4 weeks post op with no problems
