    Really ?!!! Am I Alone?

It has its ups and downs but worth the effort. I have 3 kids two are teenagers. Needless to say they only want to eat the things I buy for my diet needs. Then when I get enough for them they don't want it and complain that they only have healthy stuff. My teenage daughter is one the biggest challenge. My sister doesn't help either making things I can not have at all. Then she tries to serve them to me insisting I try it. So I totally hear where you are coming from. We can do this though! Crystal

About 2 weeks ago I went to see the PA and was scheduled for a fill but I told them how I was throwing up all the time, they were happy with my weight loss and he asked if I was stopping for 15 to 3 seconds between bites and putting the fork/spoon down…well I could have smacked my forehead how could I have forgotten this very important step So feeling kind of stupid I left and bought the $5 30 second timer and have been using it ever since Even went back and bought another so I have one at home and one at work 15 – 30 seconds between bites is soooooo long but it feels so much better No choking, throwing up . no feeling like you are chiking because it wont go up or down I am so happy with my timer…but now I think other people are eating like pigs

The next time she says something rude to you just tell her " I have my reasons for getting strong and being at a healthy weight, just as you have your reasons for being unhealthy and being overweight!"That should shut her up! I would'nt normaly encourage that kind of response, but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire !!

How To Deal With Lap Band Haters?

WOW....you know what I did. I am so tired of my co-workers asking me every day if I have lost weight. (i mean I dont weigh in everyday hello?) They are all very overweight as well. One day my co-worker went and bought mcdonalds. When she started eating it I looked at her and smiled and said....WOW you wanna know how many calories are in that? I figure if they wanna watch what I eat and ask about it maybe I should do the same I probably should not have done this but I was frustrated. She just laughed, I guess she was hungry and didnt care lol I agree more with Corrigan though. Just tell them you had personal reasons for doing this.

    Calling all A11s!!

So far I am 3 months post op, Ive had my 3rd fill and not much restriction. I will say that I no longer go for 2nd's when I am eating a meal, but other than that I can eat anything I desire. I am still trying to be careful of what I eat, without depriving myself. It seems to work. I have also become a Zumba fanatic, I just cant seem to get enough. Im thankful for my band, but I have learned not to completely rely on it. I have to put forth the effort in other ways if I really want to make this thing work. Its been slow progression, but as long as I get to my goal I will be alright.

    December Bandsters!

I am going to take it one day at a time and i am going to tell my husband to hide the scale, because if he doesn't i would probably weigh myself everyday and i do not want to do that. This is forever now. this is not me going on weight watchers or atkins and starting a diet for a wedding that is upcoming or a vacation, this is for my life and i am not going to think of this as a diet anymore. this is going to be the new me that learns to love herself, love her body and eat only good choices. i am going to say, how many Cookies have i already had to eat in my life, i know what that tastes like and after i swallow it i forget what it tasted like anyway. I am going to do this for life now. December 1st is fast approaching and Lap Band, i look forward to spending the rest of LONG life with you and i hope we can learn to live together in harmony and give eachother exactly what we need. my motto is ONE DAY AT A TIME. thank you all for your support. Skinnyminime, i read alot of your posts and you give me encouragement. thank you very much.

    Why are YOU Fat?

Ok, I have always had a problem with leaving food on my plate. It comes from being told to finish everything no matter what. Also, comes from later in life I had a fear of never having enough food. I had a really hard time after my divorce of making ends meet with four children to feed. I would try and try so hard to make sure they had food but there were times we had nothing but bologna or peanut butter in the house. So my mind keeps telling me to eat now cause you might not have anything to eat later. Isn't that sick? LOL!! Anyone else relate?
