    Eating Two days after surgery

I guess I'll be the bad guy... Pringles?? Two days after surgery? Are you kidding me? I don't care how chewed the Pringles are - it's not a good choice. My thought is that if you can't resist Pringles two days after surgery with a newly sutured band then how are you going to resist cake on Day 6, a plate of lasagna on Day 46, two big Macs on Day 96? Get it together! You can do this and do it right. You deserve a happy and healthy life. You didn't go through all this to fail. My nutritional plan allows for "cheat meals" but no freaking way would I eat Pringles two days after surgery. I apologize for being harsh, blunt, and mean but I'm not going to sit here and say that's it ok and then not offer any encouragement towards healthier habits. YOU CAN DO IT!

    No protein shakes

Protein shakes are generally not pushed here in australia either, past th immediate post op period although i notice its a trend thats catching on in the general public. You never used to see it but evrytime i go to the gym now i see som meathead sucking down one as he gazes at himself and flexes one muscle at a time, lol. Personally i never drank them because i cant see the point of spending twenty minutes concocting some recipe like i see here on this board ( that recent pumpkin pie one comes to mind) that has four times as many calories, artificial sweetener and chemicals as a plain ol poached egg on toast AND is a liquid anyway and wont satisfy! Plus its just another way to prolong our addiction to the taste of sweet, creamy foods. As you can tell, im no fan of the concept of Protein Shakes as a daily food staple. I think theyre useful, sure, wont hurt if you like them and may be of real benefit at high level of intense exercise (which does not mean zumba or even a spin class).

And corn chips are a vegetable, right? Day two and you're sailing. My concern was for month six and setting yourself up for failure with this Pringles are mashed potatoes idea. I encourage you to do this the right way. Call your surgeon and ask what he/she thinks of pringles on day two. If your plan says any food "as tolerated" on day two then knock yourself out.

Why in the world was it 70,000 dollars for the hospital bill? Self pay here is around 17,000.

    Eating Two days after surgery

First off, no one on here is being harsh, they are being honest and real. You can do some serious damage to your "new stomach" eating any kind of solids 3 days post op. your doctor gave you post op instructions for a reason. Second, you came here for advice, and you got advice to not be doing what you are doing. and you did not like what was said so you get mad. if you don't want advice, then don't come here bashing people who are trying to help you. Tell your doctor what you did and i can almost guarantee that he/she will give you the riot act. Solids are a big no no after surgery, you are still very swollen and you could very well already have fluid in your band and not know it. i had 3 cc and had no idea until i went for my first fill. Just be careful on what you eat so you don't cause more harm than good. Yes some people progress better than others, but i really feel that pringles and chicken are a bad, bad idea 3 days post op.

I had a date exactly 2 weeks post op. Obviously dinner was out of the question so we went out for drinks. Didn't want to look weird drinking water, so I had a couple margaritas. They were wonderful, I didn't die, stayed under my calories for the day, still lost weight. I wouldn't sweat it!!

Quit acting like I took a butter knife and carved out the band. My goodness ya'll are harsh and nit picky. Pringles are just mashed up potato flakes and my schedule says stage two includes mashed potatoes. So chill. I'm not looking for approval from anyone. Most of the posts are people having problems with their band. I wondered if I was alone in having none. If I am losing weight and doing fine why should you rail on me? I'm not failing; I'm sailing through just fine. Big Mac? I'll be happy with a Happy Meal, pun intended. That's a far cry from a super sized #1 with a shake for a drink and a Quarter pounder with cheese chaser. Wow, are you the rookie police officer that gives a speeding ticket for doing 56 mph in a 55 mph zone?
