Before you give up on the band, try the 5 day band test, (look it up on Google) it just might
get you back on track. If you know you're chewing enough and doing everything else
correctly, maybe you need a slight unfill. It's worth thinking about.
You're going to want broth and all of the store bought ones are nasty. Since your surgery is still a week or so away make some now. Put a chicken (or beef if you prefer it) and some veggies and seasonings in the crock pot and cook the heck out of it. When its done, strain it and throw away the hunks. Freeze the broth in small containers so all you have to do is nuke it when you want it. I froze it in ice cube trays and then cracked them into a freezer bag so I could have as much or as little as I wanted. I also mixed my protein powder with a pkg of Carnation Instant Breakfast. It has lots of vitamins and makes the shakes taste a whole much better. I don't think I would have made it through the first week or so without Emetrol. It's cherry flavored anti nausea liquid. Works great. After a few days of liquid diet you will find that you have a horrible taste in your mouth and all the tooth brushing and mouthwash in the world won't touch it. Get something lemon flavored...lemon drops or lemonade. Minute Maid Light lemonade is really good and only has 5 or 10 calories per serving. They have it half gallons in the dairy or in 12 pks in the pop aisle. (It's non-carbonated.) Take your favorite pillow with you to the hospital. The ones they have are like cardboard...at least they were at my hospital.
I haven't been banded yet, but one thing I have learned is that you must be willing to work with band to lose the weight. If I had any doubts, I would back out as well. Getting this close to surgery and putting a stop to it took quite a bit of courage. I'm sure that you will find the right solution for you.
good luck!
Just wanted to share a victory with you all... Well I met my 1st goal... So about 3 wks I turned on my Wii game n went thru my past weigh-ins on Wii Fit. I was so shocked when I discovered that I was 42lbs lighter back in February 2011. It sometimes seems so unrealistic that we can gain weight that fast. Well, on that same day 3wks ago when I wanted to see how much I had gained... so stepped on the Wii Fit Board & my heart sank when I was told I was over the weight limit for the Wii Board (330lbs maximum weight) & the computer asked me to step off the board.
Well, I'm down 13.9lbs n the Wii Board is No Longer Rejecting Me!!! So excited!!! Might not seem like much but to me it was the best thing ever!!! So overly excited to finally be moving forward with-in my Journey #ThisIsOnlyTheBeginning
Cheri I am not going to continue this conversation with you because it is ridiculous that you must keep it going. Do what is best for you and everyone the same I was not trying to scare anyone I dont see any post that point that out. Its so sad that you have nothing more to do than badger posters of which I have seen more than once from you just because you dont agree with them. Move on its not that deep really it isnt.
