    So mad at my nutritionist!

Kelly, Why not just call her back and say everything is fine now, maybe just a case of nerves. It sounds like you're doing fine, just relax and try not to freak out, there's enough money in this that they won't cancel unless there's really something wrong. One thing to remember, on a carbohydrate restricted diet, your blood sugar can get low and cause shakiness, sweating and overall nervousness. A piece of bread or a glass of juice should take care of that. Whatever you do, don't call your nutritionist when you're in that state. She sounds like a bit of a bully, and you need to talk to her in a calm, collected manner. Good luck and I hope it all goes well.

Your attitude is half the battle. SO call it stupid and convince yourself you are bored and you are half way there to making the band fail for yourself. The over induldgeing got us to be where we are today. You had all the food you wanted to in the past. Turn over a new leaf. Find recipies within the diet. Do everything your physicam wants you to do. Stick to it and the end result will be worth it.

What if my liver doens't shrink?

Part of the reason for the pre-op diet (the major one I think) is that sometimes the liver can be so enlarged with fat that it's hard for them to actually place the band. I think if you do your best you should be fine. As for the poster who is missing Thanksgiving....my preop diet started a few days before Christmas last year. That was really tough, especially since no one but my husband knew I was having the surgery. Just think of the weight you would probably gain if you weren't on the diet and rejoice in the fact that you will actually lose weight during the holidays!

Do you still enjoy food after lapband...

I still do enjoy all kinds of food. I just don't enjoy as much of it! I live with the motto of moderation not elimination. Whatever you take out of your diet to lose weight is what you'll have to keep out of your diet to maintain that weight. I have a little, tiny bit of everything. I just can't eat all of it. That is the purpose of the band, to help with the amount of food you eat. I do exercise a lot! I do my part. I don't eat sweets for every meal but if there is an occasion where there is a dessert, I'll have some. I won't have 2nds or 3rds as in my previous life before the band but I do indulge in moderation. I don't want to live on a diet forever. I, personally, don't find that pleasurable. So, yes, I still do enjoy food. All the best to you on your journey!

    Another strange thing>>>>HELP

You just gave him thirty thousand dollars, You have every right to disturb him if you think you need to. I'd go back to liquids for a day or so, until you can get in touch with some one. If it goes away in a day of so, you're probably OK, but don't let it go. The pain in your back is probably referred pain from somewhere else. Hopefully your doctor can tell you where.
