Wow!, 82 lbs is great! I bet that you do look a lot different than your original photo. I got one of my IDs changed but not my drivers license. (I am just to lazy to stand in a long line for that). Anyway, it is good for me to have the old ID too, it remnds me where I came from. Congrats, I'll bet you look great! Karen

    First guilty day :(

Dust it off and start anew tomorrow. Remember that you got the band to change your life. Make the change to tell that slippery slope to get lost!! You CAN do this and tomorrow is new day. A lot of us know that slippery slope well, but we have the power in us to make it different this time. I know you will do it. Good luck.

    I miss food

Yep, we all have that feeling - we were all overeaters before-hand and a lot of us find comfort from food. Funny enough, yesterday we had veggie soup and my husband sliced some French bread thin and baked it with some Provolone on top. I took one small bite of the bread and realized nope - that's not going to sit well. I looked at him and said, "You have no idea how much I want to cram that piece of bread in my mouth and enjoy every calorie of it." It just isn't gonna happen. I know the old adage of "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels", but that's hard to reconcile in my mind - it's apples and oranges to me. However... I find the more time that comes between myself and a specific food, the less I crave it. Example: we had a bag of bugles in the house a few months ago. I had a few and my God they were good. I ended up eating more and buying more and eating more. The more I gave in, the more I wanted it. I'm the same with ice cream or McDonalds. I finally have to stop cold turkey because I can't wean - if I eat a little, I want more. Once you get over the hump of cravings, it's not as bad on the flip side. It's something we'll all likely struggle with for most of our lives. It's why we don't do so well when left to our own willpower. Don't beat yourself up over it - celebrate each victory but don't mourn your losses too badly.

    I can't see it...

The first reply to your thread was amazing.. I've been having the same problem and I haven't been sure how to address it. At my heaviest, I was probably 300 pounds at 5'8. I never got on the scale after I saw the 290s though, so there's no way to be sure. Looking at pictures is shocking because I always felt like I was just overweight.. not the "morbidly obese" tag they stuck on me. Today I am 234 and the only time I even see a small difference from 300 is when I wear a girdle I bought from walmart... Even my program coordinator said, "Oh look at your waistline!" haha. Not so much without the girdle . So it's super difficult to see what other people see.. I told my mom that even though I'm down about 50 lbs, I feel like people I haven't seen in awhile are just like, "Did you get a haircut?" haha. It's nice to see the pant size going from a 24/26 to a 16/18, but I think body dysmorphia is definitely a contender in all this. The only thing that really helps me, other than monthly pictures.. which are super embarrassing.. is my measurements. I bought some cute ribbon and each month when I tally up my total lost inches, I cut that off the ribbon spool and keep it somewhere I'll see it, like right now it's tied around my rear view mirror in the car. My biggest motivation would my mybodygallery.com ... it's amazing to see the differences in the women that are my height and weight, to the ones that are my goal weight. Whenever I feel really down about my weight loss I click around on there for awhile and it helps a little. The biggest help is the guys that pay attention to me now though, that wouldn't have looked twice 50 lbs ago. Definitely an ego booster! Okay, off for my fill in a little bit.. Good luck to all of you, and congratulations on at least taking the first step, plus any weight loss you've achieved!

    Psychological problems

I completely understand how you're feeling, but it IS true that not all boys will care about your stomach. Really, truly. You are battling against what you THINK they see when they look at you but let's be honest... girls your age have stretch marks. Girls your age have wonky boobs. Girls your age have muffin tops and chubby legs and round bellies and you are NOT the only girl out there who isn't a bikini model when your clothes come off. And I think most guys are too busy saying "OMG I'M GONNA GET SOME" to notice whatever you're worried about when you get naked.

    Psychological problems

honey i'm sorry you're feeling this way, but you need to talk with a professional psychatirist that deals with body images problems or with patients that have had WLS. Having thoughts of sucide is very scary and it breaks my heart to read that. I pray that you are safe and seek help and dont do anything drastic. Please keep us posted. I am praying for you.

    Diet Pills?

Some docs do that but Dr. Aceves isn't one that agrees. Remember, the time between banding and restriction is called Bandster Hell for a reason. Hang in there, you can do this!!!
