    Eating Poll

I would have to pick C. I have eaten whatever I wanted the entire 3 years since banding and have lost over 140 pounds, however; I must say, the things I want have changed drastically.

    from success to failure

Congrats on your marriage! Have you thought about working with a therapist to help with the addiction issues? My suggestions for getting back in control: Take it slow, baby steps. First find yourself a band doctor and get things checked. Get a fill if that is what you need. Set small goals. Pick parts of what I have below and implement them slowly. Changing our lives in one big swoop can be overwhelming. These need to be changes that we can live with forever. Start back with your band rules of eating. Solid Protein, small bites, veggie side dishes, starches if you have room. No liquids with food. No liquid calories. Try not to eat highly processed foods (i.e. junk food) as they tend to slide through the band and do not sustain you for long. Don't eat between meals. Drink 8 glasses of Water per day. Exercise? Yeah, I hate it. Start slow. Walk up and down your block for 5 minutes. Park farther away than you usually do. When you go to the mall take a lap around before beginning your shopping. Adding activity into your life doesn't have to be major workouts. You CAN do this!

    Two things about weighing yourself

I weigh daily and find comfort and control in seeing it every morning. I also agree that it gives me insight in how my body changes water-wise throughout my cycle. I do not count lbs lost until I get two consecutive days at that weight, then I consider it my new weight.

That's me! I'm the person that can and does fluctuate 10 lbs in one day. It's crazy. It never gets to me though. My husband "gets on to me" for weighing myself daily... Even sometimes multiple times a day... But I'm different than him. To him, it would drive him nuts to see the weight change all the time... But to me it's interesting.

    Two things about weighing yourself

I used to weigh daily but stopped because I was freaking out/obsessing over the number, but that was before I realized and understood that fluctuations are to be expected. In fact, some people can see a 10lb fluctuation in ONE day. Your hormone levels, the amount of food in your GI tract, sodium, Water, muscle water retention..and so many other things all play a role in the number the scale spits out at you. I started weighing weekly but have gone back to daily weigh-ins as I am looking to lose the last 5-10 and then I have plans to gain some mass, so daily weighing will be optimal for me. If anything, my suggestion is to use the scale, use measurements, and use your clothing as judging points. If you're dropping clothing sizes, you're losing fat and doing what you should be doing

    Best Protein Shake, HELP!!!!

Aloha, The Protein shake that I came across was the same as SarahLW. It is Shakeology, we use the Chocoalte one. Not too big of a fan of their othe flavor greenberry. It helps your body gently eliminate toxins more efficiently while allowing for better absorption of the essential nutrients the body needs. My husband lost 30 lbs on it (no lap band). For him it was a big transformation because he is in the military and cannot afford to be overweight or not pass his PT (Physical fitness test). Being that his father has diabetes he likes to watch for the glycemic index. This product is certified as having a low glycemic index. We got his father on it too so it would curve his sugar cravings, lol. The Shakeology site is below. It gives you plenty of info, along with Doctor's testimonials. http://myshakeology.com/esuite/home/GreatBodyMiami Take Care! Brenda

    Best Protein Shake, HELP!!!!

I have been using shakeology. I order it from the internet. Havent got my band yet, but I drink one in the morning with skim milk and it keeps me good for about 4 hours. So if it is good now I bet it is just fine after surgery. Get on the beachbody, shakeology sight and check it out. It seems a bit expensive at first but it is a 30day supply and is actually cheaper in the long run that buying breakfast every morning.
