    breakfast at restaurants

if fruit and/or yogurt are available i would go for that. I am a lacto ovo vegetarian (no meat or seafood at all) - i eat dairy but i have always hated eggs (eggs mixed into something is ok - but plain eggs or an omelette no way). I will be having the same trouble as you (i just haven't been to a restaurant for breakfast since starting my pre-op diet). Some restaurants have oatmeal - i may try that. Otherwise, you are in a pickle. Maybe a protein shake before you leave for the restaurant and then get coffee and fruit at the restaurant? Or, unsweet cereals (i.e., special K, Kix, bran flakes) are decent. That's really all i can think of.... (unless it's a buffet and you can get lunch foods - salad etc.) Remember, restaurants are about conversation and good company not the food.

    Excited but Worried

I know how you feel. I was feeling the same way. But even though I felt like backing out after reading the stories about the pain (I'm a big baby), I would look at the weight loss tickers and think - if i can loose that much - the pain would be worth it. I finally have my surgery date and I think I'm very happy about it.

    Excited but Worried

Being informed about the possible difficulties will help you to prepare to deal with them. I have learned so much from this forum and it has all been helpful in it's own way. Good luck .

    Excited but Worried

Best decision I ever made! My only regret is that I didn't have the surgery sooner. Good luck!!!

    Excited but Worried

Stick to the positive topics. There's plenty of them. My surgery and recovery was a breeze! Not even close to many of the pain ridden stories you'll read on here! Keep positive and you'll do great!

    Hippa question

Hippa is Hippa and all the release forms in the world aren't going to change that. An employee cannot discuss a patients care with her mother or anyone else.

I'd tell him I would consider working with him only when he can show you he has researched WLS and EDUCATED himself on the pros and cons to each surgery...and the very important lifestyle changes that each surgery warrants. A personal trainer who would pass such judgement is not only way off base and ignorant....but is doing his clients a tremendous disservice by voicing his ridiculous and uneducated beliefs! He does not hold a medical degree and as such should never comment on such things in such an ill informed manner! He is perpetuating a negative and ignorant stereo type of WLS...which could ultimately be very detrimental to the very clients he is supposed to be helping. GAAAAA he really made me mad, when he said those things to you!

    Hypo-Thyroid Bandsters

I went to my Endocrinologist today for hypoThyroidism. It was my 90 day check up. The Nurse was shocked when she saw the weight difference. My first weight was 305Lbs. ,, Today I was 271 Lbs.... That's a little more then 11Lbs. a month. You know what?? I'LL TAKE IT... This is for all you, and the Newbies. This is possible to do. I eat between 800-1200 calories a day, and 60-80G of Protein a day. That's it. I don't bother with a scale, they drive me crazy. It is more worth it, to go to the Doctors, get weighed, and watch them have the shock of YOU HAVE LOST WEIGHT OMG, and you know this because you will be able to tell by the looseness of your clothes. So I try to keep it simple, and be patient, and it works ! I also walk around the block 3x a week. I just thought I would share this, also I am on Armour Thyroid a Natural Medication. Shirley.

    BIG Gripe!

I hope you don't mind if a vent a little...so here it goes! I am SO sick of stores putting their women's clothes right next to the friggen maternity clothes! I find it so insulting! I went to Target and they are set up like this Juniors, Ladies, Maternity, Womans. WTH?! I found myself looking at clothes only to realize that I crossed over to maternity. Kmart is the same way. Why don't they just put maternity clothes near the baby clothes-seriously! I just get so mad! And the woman's sections at these stores just keeps getting smaller and smaller! I would love to know what thoughless A** decided that would be a lovely idea!
