    My Pre-Op Shopping List

Definitelly get the book Bandwagon -it's a great resource and wil answer all of your questions completely. http://www.amazon.com/Bandwagon-Strategies-Success-Adjustable-Gastric/dp/0578061236 You'll neeed to take vitamins-plus they are always a good idea! You can bathe in 2 days My doctor said I could drive in 5 days (but that varies from doctor to doctor) You can't see the port I really think the most important thing to remember is that for the first 2 months or so you will be dieting pretty much on your own unless your one of the rare lucky ones who never needed a fill! Good luck!!

    Relationship trouble?

Temptation. When you master your temptation to over eat, you lose weight and become more attractive to others. Then you face another kind of temptation because you have more options for mating/ dating. If you 'settled' when you get hitched to your spouse, that relationship may not withstand the situation when more options open up to you. On the other hand, if you married for the right reasons, your relationship will probably be fine.

I'm having surgery on June 17 as well. My nerves are under control, but I am so nervous about the after-surgery nourishment. I guess I just don't want to "screw up" and am very stressed out. One day at a time is what I am telling myself.

I was banded on Thursday, I'm 4 days out and am so glad I did it. I had so much anxiety before surgery that I was freaking myself out. It didn't matter what anyone said, I was a wreck! I was actually pretty calm while they were prepping me and was ready to get going. Before I knew it, my husband left my side, I was dizzy (meds started), had a short bed ride to the OR and moved over to another bed. I was out before I knew it and awoke to a mans voice. It was that quick! I won't lie, the gas pain has been the worst! BUT lots of walking, heating pad, massages and taking it easy helps. Day 3, I felt like a person again, had all my color back and was finally able to understand what I had been through and how happy I am going to be. There isn't anything anyone can say to stop you from worrying or to take the anxiety away. Just know that so many others have been through it and know exactly how you feel. You're not the first or the last and it's normal to be anxious. Good luck! You'll do fine. Follow your drs. rules and read the forums which can offer a lot of insight and advice. Keep us updated :-)

My husband bought me a old fashioned schwinn in pink and white with that great seat and I love it, he has one to and it's so fun. I had to edit this to say his bike isn't pink and white. lol

I bought on a couple of weeks ago and have been riding it to and from curves. The only problem I have is it is mostly up hill on the way back, but it does give me a work out. We need to get a bike carrier for the suv so we can go ride the bike loop( 7 miles) without as many hills! I ride at 6 am and am home by 730am so I can miss the heat here. Good for you and enjoy p.s. I bought the big butt seat for mine and had my husband change it out for me. so much better!

I bought myself my first REAL bike (read: cost more than $125 and isn't a pile of shhhhh...) a couple days ago and am going to ride it to my PO Box every mail day. Well, today was the first day. I almost made the "it's too hot" excuse, but I sucked it up and did it anyway. I figure if 80 is too hot for me, here in the Midwest, I'll never get out and bike. Plus, I could always go in the morning when it's not so hot. Anyhow, it's 2.3 miles away from home (so 4.6 miles total) and I'm thinking that I need to at least DOUBLE that length somehow next time. It was so fun that I think I might go back out and ride after typing this. Yes, in the "too hot" weather, lol.

    losing weight too fast?

Common. You're losing a combination of water weight, fat, muscle, etc. The scale can drop big time when your glycogen is depleted.
