Wrapping my head around food quantities

Well... I tend to measure by volume, not weight. A pound is 16 ounces. A cup is 8 ounces. So 4 ounces of meat is about 1/2 a cup. My Breakfast is usually a container of greek yogurt with 2 or 3 spoonfuls of Kashi GoLean Cereal sprinkled on top. lunch can be a small can of chicken (mine are 3 ounces) mixed with low-fat mayo, and I use 5 or 6 celery sticks to scoop it up and eat it. dinner... it's a piece of meat about the size of a deck of cards and a cup or so of salad.

Hi lads, how are we all doing today. Another day closer to my all of our dates!!! Mine's 25th June. Whats your last BIG meal going to be?? I already have it planned out!!! lol Im defo having a big sandwich for my lunch, white bread of course! As i dont envisage having any bread for a long time. Also a few beers! Will NEVER be having that again and i'm looking forward to it, Then for dinner i'm having steak, potatoes, onions and gravy!! Cos everyone is saying its very hard to eat steak afterwards, so in case i cant eat it again!!! Then 1 week of pre op milk diet and bobs your uncle!!! I really cant wait to start my new life! xx

My ONLY regret is that I waited so long to have the surgery. How many positive memories have I missed out on because I was too obese to enjoy them? Now that I've had the surgery, and done so well with it, I am completely satisfied. Dave

When will I start eating less

You will get more restriction when you have more fills but the fact remains that the band isn't going to reach out it's hand from your stomach and keep the fork/spoon away from your mouth. The band CANNOT and will NOT "make" you stop eating less. Yes it makes you fuller quicker and when you overeat the sensation is not the most pleasant, but nothing about the band will keep you from eating. Only you control what goes in your mouth; not your band. Self-control is key as is willpower, without it the band does you no good. My 2 cents.

For those of you wanting motivation and to see MANY before and after photos I spent a few hours one day sitting on my butt and googling weight loss photos. I stumbled onto two great discussion forums with a bunch of before and after pics. Two resources are - a Dr Atkins forum and the other is a generic weight loss forum . These are direct links to only the before and after picture forum threads. Hover over the links, you'll see the link address, this is not spam links, I assure you. These do not pertain to the lapband so I wouldnt read any diet advice, but great b and a pics! Enjoy!
