Hi Everyone- It has been on my mind lately to start a new post as a positive, motivational, and inspiring thread. I have noticed several threads lately where those considering surgery are asking if it is 'possible' to lose 100 pounds with the band. My answer to that is...Yes, it definitely is. Many say it is not realistic. But I have watched the amazing progress of LBT members on the board, and believe it is not only realistic, it is happening to many of our LBT members all around us. And for those that aren't quite there yet, many members are extremely close. As time goes by with lapband increasing in popularity and the number of LBT members growing everyday, I believe the list is only going to increase by leaps and bounds. Any and all weight loss is a huge accomplishment for us all. While I realize that many members don't need to lose 100 pounds or more, many do. And for those who do, it offers not only motivation to see that other bandsters have done it...but most importantly it offers the hope that it can be done with the band! This will be a running thread to offer positive motivation, inspiration, hope, and encouragement. ONEDERLAND!!! I was banded 11-10-10, so technically yesterday was my 6 month anniversary, but I wasn't yet at onederland. So I'm rationalizing that today's weight was a resulted of yesterday's work. However you look at it, I'm counting it. That means 40 pounds lost from my highest and 25 pounds lost since surgery. I could have lost more, bhadj had some other medical complications keeping me from exercising and losing for two months. Either way, I'm not in a race and am just thrilled to be in onederland. I feel like me again and have so much more confidence! My foster daughter, who doesn't know about the band, keeps telling me that it looks like I've lost a lot of weight...good kid. I love my band!

I have had 3 surgeries since being banded- a tummy tuck/boob job, minor procedure to correct fluid build up from tummy tuck and also a face lift. I did not have any fluid removed for these surgeries. Of course, my surgeon knew about the band. I would go with whatever your surgeon reccomends for you. This was just my experience.

I am planning on calling tomorrow and making an appointment for next week. I have some restriction in the morning, but not the rest of the day. I am also still getting hungery every two hours and would like to be able to not have to eat Snacks. I am sticking to the plan and getting my workouts and walks in 6 days a week. I have lost 39 pounds now, but I can say it is work! Anyone that thinks losing weight with lab band is easy does not have one!

Hi Kristi, I, also, go to Florida Obesity Surgical Associates in Zephyrhills.Love the office, a lot of the staff, including Dr Grossbard, have had the surgery. Hope that you enjoy your journey as much as I have. My husband is a scaredy cat too! However, scared as he is, he is supportive of me. I just wish that I could get him to do it. HIsd famliy have had some problems being put on full life support, so he has his reasons! Good luck to you all. Karen

I made the huge mistake of trying the food that are high in calories. like doughnuts, chips, bread. hamburgers. big big mistake for me it was better if i thought i couldn't eat them. i was doing much better not knowing now i find it hard to stay away. i opened pandoras box and i can't find a key to lock it back up.

Excuse me?! How is that insulting her??? She has had the band over 3 yrs.! How much time would u want her to waste on the band????????????

Be careful on this one, folks. She has been outed on OH using several names, being her own boyfriend, attacking those who are VERY helpful and deactivting and coming back insisting she is someone else, but making a few sloppy mistakes that inform us otherwise. Here's ONE of the threads....link Some of the OH old timers were less than welcoming as they remembered CheriGate...the "Princess of Poor Pitiful" who ended up incarcerated for hustling helpful folks out of cold hard cash.
