Physical Activity
After getting doctor's approval, weight loss surgery patients should start a physical activity program. Regular exercise burns calories and improves health. Walking, swimming and stationary bicycling, especially on a recumbent bike, are common choices for beginners. They don't place much stress on the joints.
Eventually, a good goal is to get at least 30 minutes of exercise on most days of the week. This may seem like a lot for beginning exercisers, but it's really not that much. Some ways to prevent boredom are to choose different activities and to work out with one or more exercise partners. Group fitness classes, such as water or regular aerobics, sculpting and zumba, can be motivating and make exercise more fun, too.
