Richardson 1 Posted February 6, 2010 Wolf whistle !! Wow great figure... What I would like to know is have you had any problems since 2006 with the band was it easy to get used to it? Do you plan to keep it in for the duration... Dx Share this comment Link to comment
Allison925 1 Posted February 8, 2010 Perfect10: Thanks so much! Best of luck to you as well! BarnGal: Aww thank you! Congrats on losing 90 pounds, that's fantastic :-) I also had hoped to lose it all in the first year; I didn't. In fact, I felt like a band-failure for a very long time. I had the worst time trying to find the proper restriction... always too tight or too loose. I was back up to 207lbs as recently as Sept 2008, and have lost about 75lbs since then. I finally had my 'break-though' that I needed; a good fill, proper diet and exercise, and then everything fell into place. I spent far too long expecting the band to do it all for me :-/ As far as hanging squishy bits go... Well, there are some areas I really wish would firm up. By and large though, I feel extremely fortunate to have as little loose skin as I do (I'm 26). My thighs, arms and backside have all recovered and tightened well with ample gym work. My stomach is what I consider borderline; I hope with a port revision and more gym time I will be in a bikini this summer with no plastics! Keep me posted on how it goes for you Richardson: Thank you Thank you! My first few years didn't go as planned (see above), but no real 'problems.' I wouldn't call it super easy to get used to --for most of us, it means letting go of a lifetime of bad eating habits... no easy feat, band or no. BUT, the band is certainly well worth it and such a wonderful tool in breaking those habits. I can barely remember what life was like without it now. I plan to keep the band in as long as it will have me :-D If I were ever to lose the band, I would do WLS all over again in a heartbeat (however, I'd think long and hard about having a gastric sleeve instead to replace it).
