Being alone will make it MUCH easier! :)

You don't have to deal with the aromas and sights of foods that aren't necessarily healthy. You can have your first PB in private and learn "gadzooks don't wanna do that again" without someone hovering around. You can eat baked fish 4 days in a row if you want (food will eventually not be so important) without someone there to say "Baked fish AGAIN!!!"

I don't know why you're questioning yourself but I'm sorry that you are down!

I think everybody that has had the surgery questions themselves, (WHAT DID I DO AND WHY) I think its normal to question, and you wouldnt be human if you didnt. Once you start making the change and it becomes a routine and you see the weight start coming off than all of that will change. I questioned myself and I even thought that maybe I did something wrong, but when I came back to work and put on my work pants and they didnt fit I was like (OH YEAH) and I dont have to worry about any of that weight coming back and my self esteem has taken a boost as well as my wallet cause I'm not buying any clothes as long as I have a belt or can wash my clothes enough for them to fit...lol... You have just started your journey but the reason why you did it is sitting in your home with you. Take out a pair or jeans you used to wear or a shirt, and compare it to the jeans and shirts your wearing now I'm sure it will bring a smile to your face to know that you are on your way to getting into those old clothes. Good luck and if you wanna talk hit me up.

Later, B.

I am 6 weeks post-op, and it isn't a quick fix. It takes time for your head to catch up with your body. It's worth it. You will do great! I have found that conquering the head hunger and the thoughts are the most difficult. Watch for mild depression also. My doctor & NP said that it was common with this surgery. Best of wishes to you!

Feeling this way is normal...most of us question doing this at some point. It took me until the 3rd week just to feel like myself again, so give this some time. Reach out to your Psych if you want some help getting through this and just know it will get better. Best wishes. -BG

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.

And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
