I received my first fill yesterday, 5-12-09, surgery was April 2. My doctor said that I was unique, because I am a kidney transplant patient and type 1 diabetes with other medical problems which require me to take NUMEROUS medications. (up to 40 pills a day.) After my fill and that evening trying to take my meds was not the most pleasant experience. I must take certain anti regection drugs at specific times, so I had to stretch the pill taking over an hour to hour and a half time period. Which will still leave me full, even before eating. I am curious to know, I can not be the only transplant/banded person. Would love to share information....

I'm not a transplantee...but I do take 27 blasted pills a day (and only about 5 of them are prescription! the rest are "supplements") So I feel your pain. I can't take most of them on an empty stomach but honestly once I've "eaten" the pills won't fit! It's a bummer. And not all pills can be crushed or dissolved in liquids. Maybe your pharmacist can help?
