6 Days Post-Op.. Can Complain At All!
Today is my 6th day since getting banded and I'm feeling amazingly great! No seriously, I have never been so well behaved about a healthy lifestyle, and even though the band is not yet adjusted (so technically it's not really going to work yet), I am not suffering from hunger pains or anything that makes me discouraged. I think part of it is because I've been on liquids for over a week and am somewhat over the hungry part, plus I've been good about staying hydrated. And I'm sure staying positive mentally is helping too! I started brisk walking 3 days post-op, just around my neighborhood and at the mall. But yesterday, I was able to hit the gym and do 1 mile on the treadmill (brisk walking w/ an incline) and 2 miles on the elliptical. I left feeling so good, it had been way too long since the last time I used my membership. I was kind of afraid that my incisions would feel like they were stretching, but everything was fine... just keep it at a moderate pace. Anyhow, I decided to wait until tomorrow to weigh myself because it'll be my 1 week post-op day and I'm assuming that it's best to record my progress 1 week apart on the same day and same time.
Oh and last thing, in case any of you are looking for a good protein shake, I have been using DESIGNER WHEY chocolate flavor (from Trader Joes) mixed w/ fat-free milk (instead of water) and it is sooooo good. Doesn't taste powdery if you use a chug/sports bottle to shake it well, then just add ice cubes so it's cold. It tastes like SILK chocolate soy milk... for those of you that have tried that, you know it's good! I bought the vanilla flavor too, but it left a somewhat bitter taste. I'll just use it to add to stuff like oatmeal later when I'm on pureed foods.
Ok, well that's enough talk for today. I hope you are all doing well and continue to motivate yourself and me! We can do this!!!
