I'm super nervous! I know that it's for my health and everything, but seriously, I'm addicted to food, it's going to be so difficult to start those shakes. But I guess I'll have to get used to it. Anyone have any tips on how to make them taste better? Recipes, etc. Thanks! :biggrin:

Hey Carrie, I have been meaning to email you. I am going to a Lap Band support group meeting on 5/6 at 6:00 in SCS at a church on Little Mack. Will email you with details if you are interested. Let me know. What kind of protein are you using? If it is HMR brands those are pretty good just as they are. Especially the HMR 70 chocolate. Otherwise I really have a hard time with them. Congrats! I will get my band on Tuesday so I understand how you feel. I am so nervous, yet so excited. I really hope my journey is as successful as the journeys I've been reading about. I really HATE protein shakes, bars, etc. So, I know this will be a hard 3 weeks for me. I want to do everything right, so I don't mess up my tummy. I am on a low carb diet in preparation for the surgery, but I don't really know whats off limits and how many carbs I am suppose to have a day. I have read labels and I try not to eat anything with more than 4 or 5 carbs. I had 10 pretzels today with cheese cubes and Genoa Salomi, because the cheese had less than 1 carb and the Salomi had 0. I really want some melon, but I don't know how many carbs so I try to stay away. I really miss salsa, bread, soda, margaritas, and chips, but I think the end results are worth giving those things up. Add me to your friends list and try to keep me updated on your progress and I will do the same. Once again congrats on your band! :wink:

Thanks for the responses! Linda, I emailed you, I am definitely interested in that support group. I am on day 2 of my protein diet. It's hard! I am drinking ensure. It tastes fine, but wow, I miss pizza, pasta, everything! Best of luck to you raelita!
