Ok so it's week two. I moved on to soft foods and I have started cheating:crying:. I have zero resistance in my band and so I take a bite here and there and the result I've gain 5lbs. I had lost 9lbs after being on the liquid diet. Then I strated eating and I'm in trouble. I still have 4 weeks before I can get a fill, but by then I don't know how much I will have gained. I know I can't work out now so maybe once I heal and can work out things may be a little better.

I feel like such a loooser!!! This is why I got the band in the first place. What am I going to do?:)

Honey,

Take a breath. Realize that this sucks, but it will get better. Go back to the basics.

First of all you need to let yourself heal. That is the most important part.

Next start keeping a journal. www.sparkpeople.com, dailyplate.com or lapband.com has a site to help you track what you eat. This is a great time to do this. You don't have resistance, but that is only one tool in your battle against this enemy we fight called obesity. A food journal is the second best thing I do for my weight loss.

Work very hard on telling when you are hungry and when you are craving. EVERYTIME you start looking for food ask yourself, "Are you hungry?" I mean is your stomach empty. Sometimes it is very hard to tell.

Give yourself a break. This is a tough time. You knew it could be this way. You hope it you will be one of the lucky ones that doesn't go through bandster hell. A day will come in the near future when you will have had several fills and you will tell an amazing difference, but don't wait for the band to do all the work. Try to take the advice above. I've heard something like 85% of people that lose weight and keep it off keep food journals!

Hi, You are going through what is considered"Bandster Hell". You are starving and it is way too soon for a fill. Don't be so hard on yourself. The weight loss will happen. I agree with Julie. Hang in there. Let us know how you are doing. THe Mo

I was banded on 3/30, and I beginning to feel the same thing as you. I am hungry, and I am finding myself cheating. It's frustrating to say the least. My fill isn't until 5/13, and I am worried I will gain weight. I am keeping a food journal, and that helps. I am writing two daily goals that I try to focus on; i.e., no sweets or bread today. It's hard, but the process works. We just have to work the process. Hang in there. We'll make it together.

Look at it this way..this is your toughest month (no fill) but in a year will it really matter whether youve lost 70 or 80 pounds? No, you'll be a whole new person no matter what happens in this Hell month! Give yourself a break...nobody's perfect!!! Good Luck! Cali

I am in bandster hell and my friend is there with me. We got banded the same day (April 10, 2009) and we call each other once or twice a week and we do not have any restrictions. I am hoping to have some restriction after my first fill. I was wondering how much I will be on my first fill. I am ready to lose weight and see a difference. This sucks!!!

Thanks for all the advice and I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one with no restriction. I have started the journal and even though my intake is really not much I'm still gaining. I just have to wait another three weeks for my fill. By then I don't know how much I will have gained. Also I have this weird pain in my navel does anyone else have this? Most of the tenderness has gone and my scars are almost healed but there's a permanent sore spot in my navel.

Anyway I'm kinda pretending I never got banded just to maintain my sanity in the meantime. Thank goodness I didn't tell anyone I would feel even more like a loser,lol...

I wanted to let you know I have been banded for 1 year now. I couldnt afford to get my first fill until 3 months ago it cost me $479.00 and I still had no restriction. I did lose 40lbs with out a fill and then after 6-8 months started gaining. I gained like 8 lbs back. I am so sad cause I still have not been able to afford to go back and get another fill yet. I am hoping soon I will beable to. This was the most frusterating surgery I have ever had cause I thought I would have lost all the extra weight I have to lose by now. Just get all the fills you can and you should be fine.
