:smile2: I have a bmi of 40 with no comorbities...eventhough i have a few heart flutters here and there the tests say my heart is strong and I'll be fine...but what happens when im 300lbs and my heart isnt that strong. hopefully that day will never come. I have other first cousins with heart issues, and some are overweight and some arent. High blood pressure, brain aneursyms, diabetes also plagued some other loved ones. Bottom line i do no want to reach any of these points. I work as an emt here in the city...(911 ems) 75% of people that i encounter have medical problems that involve some sort of neglect to the persons health..which brought on their conditions. a person who comes into the er with a diabetic crisis and is 400 lbs and huffing and puffing are looked down upon. The person who is 125 lbs and has a diabetic crisis is looked at with sympathy..and it must be a bad luck of the draw why they are diabetic...but who knows if their condition is congenital or if their eating habits are just as bad as the 400lb person?

I remember being 140lbs in 4th grade when my friends were 85lbs. They weighed us all one day in gym class and i was mortified she would say my weight out loud. Thank god my best friend was also around the same weight. we were shaped like full grown women with C-cup breasts. I want to be healthier too. If i told u it wasnt for cosmetic reasons at all i would be lying lol. its 50/50...when you look better you feel better i always say. I dont want my weight to be a factor anymore in my life. im not all sad and depressed about it, just disapppointed... i dont want to be a size 16..id rather be a size 9 and preserve my sanity. Now as i wait for all my pre-requisites to be completed for this surgery...i have alot to think about and prepare for. I look forward to it :tongue2:
