I had my first follow-up visit yesterday all went well. Signed up for a Vemma Program it is super shot supplement drink, my doctor suggested it. I had lost another 1.5lbs since Thursday. I still have no hunger and only eat one meal a day with two protein shakes. Life is good. Oh, my scars are looking great , been doing the Maderma. I discussed my belching, the doc said I am an air swallower and since the conversation, I have caught myself doing just that. I will try to break that habit. Also I discussed my lack of energy and exercise with him. He told me I was still healing and not to worry about it at this point. I go back in 3 months unless I begin to get hungry. He thinks I may be one of those who won't need a fill, or at least not much as he explained one of his patients has lost 111 pounds in 6 months with no fills. I should add he put in some fill when he does the surgery and if I eat anything close to a cup I get a very bad feeling.I still have about a week and a half before going back to work and am glad to have the time off, I am amazed of the ones who go right back to work. You are better than I, guess some don't have a choice. But my advice to anyone having the LB, if you can take some time, please do. I know I also had hernia surgery but still I have needed this time. On a brighter note, I bought a new kitchen canister to put my shake mix in and have all my supplements lined up in the spice cabinet. So what I am saying is I have Incorporated LB into my life. Also I still refuse to let anyone make changes to their life because of my LB, I carry enough guilt without having that to shoulder. So eat what you want, invite me to dinner, or a party. I can cope, this is all about me so don't try to make it about you. I will be giving you my fat clothes on the way to a better me.

If you read my blog, please leave a comment, so I know this is helping someone other than myself. Even though if no one reads it I am ok, since this is about me:thumbup:

I love your blog and always look forward to it because I am preband (no date yet) and it really helps to see how you're doing and especially the details of what you are experiencing.

I have a question for you...what's the deal about the shaving? Is it just the fine hair on the abdomen or are they putting one of the trochars way down in the downtown zone?! I need to know what to shave. I have been in on a few surgeries and seen how they do it if you dont...dry cheap disposable razor...not good!I dont want to take a chance!! Thanks and keep on going you're doing great!!! Cali

Xavier, you don't need to shave the downtown area for the surgery, but remember they will be putting a cath in so you want to look your best . I shaved between my breast and my belly button and that seemed to work, better safe than sorry. Also don't worry about the cath, you will be out cold when they put it in and take it out, other than a little after burn you won't even know they did it. In fact, don't worry about the whole procedure, the anticipation is much worst than the actuality. I don't really even remember the day once the guy put the little shot in my IV. Best of luck to you, I am so glad I had it done.

Congratulations on how great you're doing. I'm having surgery on April 8th... just a few days away. I'll be getting the Realize-C band. Which band did you get, if you don't mind me asking. I'm using Dr. John Baker in Little Rock.

I read your post and since you asked readers to post a msg. I wanted to do so. Your story is inspiring to me. I haven't been banded yet. I have actually just began my journey. I have had surgeru though (2 C-sections). Going under the knife doesn't scare me but the cath can be painful if you are awake to feel it. Thanks for easing my mind. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking

I am from Bryant Arkansas, right outside Little Rock. I did not get the realize band, I got a 10CC standard. I had read, I believe on this site that the Realize Band had some limits, I can not state that as a fact nor did I research that band, so people who have that band, please don't beat me up. I will say I am pleased as punch at this point.

I enjoy reading your posts. I'm a bandster as well. I got banded last Tuesday (06/16) and today was the first time I actually felt hungry so my hubby made me homemade egg drop soup. Liquid and protein at once. Kudos to you for keeping up the protein shakes after surgery. I actually almost can't stand them anymore. Hence why hubby made the egg drop soup so I could get some protein in. This site is amazing. It's been a great support system for me. I haven't had much support about this on my end so it's nice to have somewhere to go and talk to people that understand and don't think this is the "easy way out" or "the lazy mans way to lose weight". I have a blog too. You're welcome to check it out anytime and let me know what you think.

I love my protein shakes, I use Chike. To me they are a treat and when I add my fruit even better. Some doctors don't want you on them after surgery. Mine encourages them while your losing weight. Go with what your doctor advised.
