Learning Curves

I'm having to learn some things with this latest fill. I was able to eat a few bites last nite but they have to be tiny, tiny, tiny....and sips of fluid must also be tiny, tiny, tiny. It is hard for me to imagine that I would be full after about 3 bites but for right now, that's what it is. If I try and push it, I burp, have the hiccups and then PB and slime. I was trying to have something soft today but I think I'll go back to soups and protein drinks for the rest of the day, maybe even tomorrow. I have to make sure I'm getting enough protein.

Off to get ready for work now.

Hi Doxie,

First of all, you probably had too much fill. If you still feel the same way tomorrow you should call your doctor and they can back down on the fill. Hopefully, your band area is just sensitive from the fill and will ease up.

Take care,

Nancy B

Doxie...I realize that all docs are different, but mine has me on protein liquids (2 -3 oz every hour) for the first three days following a fill, followed by pureed food for the next three days...THEN regular food once again.

If you're having difficulty eating regular food right after a fill, I would try that first before asking that they remove some saline.

It's entirely up to you and your physician...but thought I'd offer a suggestion as to what seems to work for me.

Good Luck!
