Hi!

I was banded Feb 19 and the first week after the surgery I lost 10 pounds, but now after all the swelling is gone my stomach is almost the same as it was before. I'm getting hungry like crazy and sometimes I eat the wrong things. I'm scheduled for my first fill a month from now, but I'm a little discourage about not losing anymore weight. Will it change after I get my fill?

I have not had my surgery yet, but i am having a hard time understanding how people that have had the surgery are not losing weight, especially in the beginning months, if they are cutting their calories probably in half or even more.

At first there isn't much and sometimes very little saline put in(when lap band is installed) so there isn't a lot of restriction. I just tried to watch what i ate and tried to stay under 1,000 calories. Some Dr.'s are different i guess and put in more saline initially. I have had one fill (not a big fill) and am losing about a lb or more a week. So i am happy with that-so what if it takes me two years to lose it all it took me a heck of a lot longer to put it all on!!!! By the way if people are cutting their calories they should be losing weight-makes you wonder if they just think they arae cutting their calories huh??

I was banded on Feb. 27th. I am due to have my first fill on March 23rd. I also lost 10 lbs within the first week and I have actually put back on a few lbs. I don't feel any restrictions thus far. I am getting a little worried and I don't know if this is normal or not...

My Dr doesn't like to do fills early due to the healing process. When i was really hungry like that i ate a 40 calorie fudgesicle or even two if i needed to quench my hunger. I also drink a lot of crystal lite in the bottle and carry it around with me.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
